Major banks have now moved their variable rates to Prime + 1%. I remember not too recently people getting Prime - 1%. For anyone looking for a new mortgage now, variable doesn't seem to have the appeal it once did.

The tax payer would pick up the tab only if the losses went over a certain threshold. CMHC Insurance is funded by premiums payed by the lender. Like any insurance co, they are only in trouble when claims outway their premiums.

I agree there's a resemblance with the silhouette, but I don't see the buildings being that similar. With Bohemian being a more modern interprectation of an Art Deco style and Neo being more Modernist (with a touch of Bauhaus).
