    S U B U R B I A !

Brilliant! Flar, you have my vote for best post of 2008 thus far. I love these 2 shots. At first, I had thought that you had included the same photo twice until I compared them again. Certainly strengthens the perspective of the massive sameness.

    Mississauga Toronto | Widesuites Condominiums | ?m | 35s | Conservatory Group | Richmond Architects

Ah, the Mississauga Valley apartment buildings. They've actually managed to age gracefully.

State of the big chain grocery stores

Longo way home? I'm looking forward to the Longo's near the ACC. I've always found them to have much better produce and fish than all the other big chains.

Pulse Condominiums in North York (Pemberton, 27s, Burka Varacalli)

Just goes to show how subjective taste is. I think it looks ugly, but given Y&F area, maybe you are right in that context. :)

So I had lunch at the Thai place in the food court.... errr, California Thai? Pretty tastless/bland food; I had the phad thai. Also gave me some digestion issues later, if you know what I mean. Sigh, I had such high hopes, back to Salad King.

    CityPlace Condos

When the Cityplace condo's were originaly sold they were a good value compared to its neighbours. Prices have now leveled resulting in sharper appreciation for Cityplace early(er) adopters.

    CityPlace Condos

Your comments seem oddly familiar. You've been banned before under multiple accounts, yes?

Toronto CityPlace: Montage + Neo (Concord Adex, 47 + 16s, KPMB)

So handsome. The "brick" contrasting with the clean lines and the glass just works.

Nice shots ProjectEnd! What's your impression of the overall build quality so far?

West One Condos (Concord CityPlace) - Real Estate -

Ouch! What's the liability situation for this?

Interest rates to start rising? Clearly someone agrees with me:

Coming from Jim Flaherty, take if with a grain of salt... but seems that we may be "relatively protected" from inflation. http://www.cbc.ca/cp/business/080512/b0512116A.html

    Transitional GST Rebate for Assignments???

Ditto on the lawyer. Check the nature of the contract, some contracts have even stated that any rebates of GST will be kept by the developer.

True, they don't think it. But they do experience it just like everyone else, they are just less conscious of it.

LOL, last few comments seem to have confused good architecture with some sort of monument. Good architecture belongs everywhere, the marriage of form and function. You should expect, even demand, that everything down to the loley backyard shed gives that. Back to TLS... I'm actually more...

    I remember that part. :)

I met some friends for a beer at the newly oppened Jack Astors today. We stayed on the patio so I got some quality time to check out the "workmanship" of this place. Definately a total cheapout; I remember noticing how we couldn't see to street level since the rail on the balcony was made of...

Interesting... that would mean that the retail is ready before occupancy. Not sure if I've seen that before.
