Let's not forget it costs a fair bit to demolish these smaller buildings and yes the potential public outcry. What about more development next to subway stops especially danforth area? I always wondered why there is so little there. Will the lack of parking lots be the push eastward?
It's Lanterra. Either their taste is off or their quality. Murano had taste from the outside but horrible finishing throughout the buildings. Maybe Bedford won't have pieces of glass/brick fall off this one :)
I am hoping that this building includes a hotel component. I love high end hotels although I wonder if toronto can handle any more? (...I know 5star hotels have been talked about a lot on the forums)
Yes I heard the same about c-lounge but east of 400 Wellington is Quadrangle Architects (380 Wellington). Has there been something announced about this site?
They said it was because they are running out of space in the yonge/bloor location. However I agree, don't think that would be enough room for a Mashalls.
Ah ok thanks. Just curious. Their yorkville location is quite big and expanding so I assumed they would want a standalone. I thought they purchased the Stephenson's lot on Augusta/Richmond but no one can verify this so maybe not.
In my experience it is usually because the highest suites are customized to such an extent that the price can easily exceed the base price $10M. But interesting observation :)
building on outside is nice. inside the units are all very small. i was expecting less units per floor and larger floorplates considering the location.
Why are do so many towers suddenly make the area "Yorkville-zation"?
I enjoy tall towers but I can't see the logic. Especially when many are being built as rental units (in terms of their size).
How many parking spots have been proposed? I haven't seen anything on that. Just wondering if they were trying to minimize parking spots like sorbara is doing on Camden (I believe only 9 spots in that building).
Quite lame for $1.8M. Not even your own balcony but one that is shared with other "penthouse" units, using a simple glass divider. IMHO Cresford did a better job with the BSN penthouses.
I am quite excited to see what happens if there is a huge inventory of units. My guess is from previous buildings that many of the units will have been rented out, and the flood will appear 6 to 8 months from now when those leases end.
