    Noisy Condo Tenants

Actually what dt_toronto_geek wrote was entirely clear and helpful while you cherry picked what to answer with your snideness and didn't actually lend anything usefull to the topic. Thanks, dt_toronto_geek :)

should i invest into L tower?

It will definitely block some portion of that view... a little too close for a tower that size. It's not like it can be offset on a site that small.

should i invest into L tower?

http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=8163844 If you bought that you could put 50k to swank it out and you'd be on par with the London. Their interior seems quite nice. I don't know if I like the layouts though... very 80's ... galley kitchens are pretty bad... might have to...

Hey Ash... Try Hanks, It's owned by the Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar and they use all their leftovers to make reasonably priced sandwiches, soups, baked goods. It's quite nice. Also Starfish is nice but it's price is on the high end. And of course there's all the little places in the St...

The Keg is moving from it's current location on Church into the corner area. Not sure how much of the space they're going to take. It's the only one going in so far.

    Condo Upgrades

Ceilings are uneven when unfishished so popcorn ceiling is easier as they don't have to grind and sand the ceiling down to a consistent level. If you want to put a sconce on a wall that has concrete and it's too late to have wires installed you can buy flat wires to run up the wall and then...

    Affordability

Yeah Yossi, That's what I was referring to. Though older apartment buildings have bad window insulation too. Eg. not double paned. That's rental units, not condos.

    Affordability

Thanks Simuls :) Sometimes recently I feel a little guilty for doing well. Especially in this economy. The last recession I was very unemployed.

London on the Esplanade Condos (Cityzen) - Real Estate -

Developer said July/August... so probably September/November?

    Affordability

I don't really agree with that.... while you may pay a little more overall for a condo/home than renting your are paying towards and investment that will accrue over time if you bought at the appropriate time. With regards to my previous condo we had no upgrades. We did put in new hardwood...

Sounds like intelligence to me but call it what you will.

    Affordability

Lucky? We knew to sell at that point because we knew that the market couldn't continue at the current rate. My father-in-law is a successful land developer and we both agreed it was a good time to sell. The second property will also turn a profit. Is that lucky as well? But more to the point...

    Affordability

We had the luxury of buying a few years before we sold that unit. So we bought at 315 per square foot in the London. I don't think prices will drop that low for that location so we're still set to make a profit off it.
