The park looks nice, hard to judge when it's dark and wintertime. I love the yellow accents, they pops nicely with the black and reference the context too. They did a good job retaining the mature trees but it's a shame that the sidewalks weren't widened (though likely out of scope). Would've...

Agreed with most of the above. The podium doesn't really relate to how dynamic the upper stories are. Perhaps if the masonry alcoves alternated at street level between white and black it would help resolve that relationship better while also making the ground floor less monolithic.

    Toronto Toronto | 101 Spadina Avenue | 133.95m | 39s | Devron Developments | AUDAX

Beautiful. I'm elated, especially after having seen the first couple of iterations of what was to come here. I want to echo my support for this return to classical elements, Art Deco design, ornamentation, arches and solid materiality. As an added bonus, this tower's placement along Spadina will...

Gorgeous, a much needed respite from the neighbouring developments' relentless assault on the visual senses (I'm looking at you Madison Group and Greywood) Thank you Westbank and HP.

You have got to be kidding me. This treatment on the most prominent corner?

Looks like those whiteboards we used to have in high school. We should give artists some sharpies and let them go to town.

No way... I remember seeing this is Shoreditch and wishing developers would step up their game in Canada. Little did i know...

well shoot. The grey spandrel and mullions really don't go with the beige and red IMO. I wish they'd chosen something crisper like the black used on say Via. The amount of spandrel on here though is a lost cause.

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

I don't know when Concord's latest toronto project has been completed but i have for sure noticed that their more recent Vancouver work has yielded better results (concord brentwood, the Arc, one pacific). It's either they learned a thing or two over the years or the standards for condo...

    Toronto Toronto | 49-51 Yonge Street | 226.86m | 62s | SmartCentres | a—A

Do we have any inclination regarding whether this is a serious proposal aimed for construction or a zoning exercise to flip the property? Smart Centre REITs portfolio is composed of mostly industrial and suburban commercial lots with little in the form of urban projects (especially with...

    Toronto Toronto | Rush Condos | 44.96m | 15s | Alterra | BDP Quadrangle

It would've looked sharper if the grey panels and mullions were swapped for black but that's just being nit-picky. Overall this is coming together nicely and i have to give credit to the team for trying something different and really committing to the basket-weave concept. It's projects like...

where are the NIMBYs at 88 Scott Street when you need them? This development will block their north view!

    Toronto Toronto | 160 Front West | 239.87m | 46s | Cadillac Fairview | AS + GG

This one's huge floorplate and roundedness reminds me of 1 Manhattan West going up in Hudson Yards. I'm confident this will be a stunner and am waiting impatiently for the first signs of glass.

    Toronto Toronto | Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

yikes. The fact that the curtain wall looks messy does not bode well. Also, wasn't the colour scheme supposed to be black and bronze? Or did they pull out the old bait and switch sunset render trick on us? This turning out blue/grey with black removes another element of uniqueness that was...

    Toronto Toronto | PJ Condos | 156.96m | 48s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

People will make things work, as I, coworkers and friends have done so many times as well when picking up Su&Bu or Sweet Jesus. I'll point out that the crowds that are there don't necessarily speak to the quality of the public realm but the way people experience them do. I've heard several...

    Toronto Toronto | Eight Cumberland | 170m | 51s | Great Gulf | a—A

It's looking ... ok. Does the design and execution command top dollar for its location in the main luxury zone of Canada's premier city, a stone's throw from two transit lines and across the street from a future square? Not in my opinion.

    Toronto Toronto | PJ Condos | 156.96m | 48s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Wow, i jokingly called this a tripping hazard when i saw the plans but the reality is closer to a major obstacle. I don't know the fascination with over-designing public spaces. Some seating, lighting and maybe trees was all that was needed. It also astounds me that they followed a similar...

    Toronto Toronto | Via Bloor | 138.37m | 46s | Tridel | a—A

I don't know why the curved tower is getting so much hate. It's much better than your average tower especially your typical Toronto 40 story box with jazzed up balconies. It is simple but stands out. The crown is well designed and the spandrel is very well masked. They didn't skimp out on the...
