Honestly, it's such a shame that developers in the entertainment district didn't capitalize on its name with towers with more extravagant designs. I'm not asking for Sydney or Melbourne architectural quality but going along with flare akin to Tableau, Picasso and even PJ condos nearby.

Loving the terra cotta fins, the canopy and the brick choice. I think when all is said and done, the green glass will be subdued by the other details

I'm looking forward to this build. If it's anything like the rendering, its different style will inject some much needed variety and add some colour amidst the black/white/grey buildings (see entertainment district)

looking good to me. I like the reflectiveness of the glass too.

Cringe. They really were banking on the redevelopment of the old LCBO building to hide the north face weren't they.

    Toronto Toronto | 11 YV | 213m | 62s | Metropia | Sweeny &Co

I really enjoy the concept of this one (art deco, setbacks, fins, street level) but i can't help but be worried that the vision will fail to be delivered due to the glaring amount of spandrel interrupting the facade look. Look no further than 1 YV for a lesson on vision vs. execution.

Would've rathered it be clad in black cladding. Would look sharper and tie in better with the side treatment

    Toronto Toronto | 600 King West | 41.5m | 9s | Wittington | ERA Architects

dang, it feels like every site within king west has witnessed some sort of redevelopment plan / interest in the past 20 years

I agree with you. Nice materials can only do so much if the scale is off and the design monolithic.

It seriously looks like a jail cell. Azkaban relocated to Yorkville.

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

Looks good. Hoping for some warmer and more vibrant colours to add variety along the waterfront.

    Toronto Toronto | Waterfront Innovation Centre | 53.03m | 11s | Waterfront Toronto | Sweeny &Co

the terra cotta panneling is this building's saving grace. It's still the waterfront inNOvation centre for me.

    Toronto Toronto | 80 Bloor Street West | 263.4m | 78s | Krugarand | Arcadis

False equivalence. Comparing the standards being discussed for a redevelopment proposal on our Mink Mile with an old existing grocery store in Harlem does not help support your point. The watering down of proposals happens everywhere and people need to understand that renders really don't mean...

Welcome to the building @MetroMan. You move in as I get ready to move out! Enjoy the convenience of the PATH, it truly is something that I’ve learned to love during our long winters.

    Toronto Toronto | 310 Front West | 235.5m | 69s | H&R REIT | Hariri Pontarini

This influx of proposals feels like commercial REITs trying to simulate demand and flip their properties. Maybe I’m just skeptical of a full return to office after this stint of working from home. Something about this proposal strikes me as speculative for some reason

    Toronto Toronto | 55 Yonge | 236.21m | 66s | H&R REIT | PARTISANS

Beautiful building. I am genuinely impressed at the progress Toronto has witnessed in terms of design and pushing the envelope. Hoping this isn’t just an exercise in flipping.

    Toronto Toronto | The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

The Stantec building behind the office tower would've made a much better looking podium than whatever we have currently. It looks like part of the project.

    Toronto Toronto | Waterworks Building Redevelopment | 47.55m | 13s | MOD Developments | Diamond Schmitt

I wish there were 2 peaks separated by a valley in this design (similar to the BIG project on King St) to reduce the impact of the wide east-west face when looking from Queen Street. Not sure the economics would work but it would have provided more light to reach the units, more corner views and...

    Toronto Toronto | Toronto House | 186.53m | 58s | Westbank | Hariri Pontarini

westbank knows what they're doing so i'm not worried one bit, especially given they want to brand the tower
