Thanks for sharing. The video. I concur with the assessment that having an outdoor mall isn't ideal, especially when like the video points out, through lack of indoor seating, you're forced to eat outdoors in the cold.

Yeah, people treat it like a little ride, not a method to move people through a space more quickly.

Wild to think this thread started a decade ago, construction took 6 years, and this intersection will see another decade of construction for the OL.

    Toronto Eaton Centre

I forgot TEC even had a WS. Location didn't do it any favours.

Again. This isn't a movie. A 14 year old isn't cowardly for not wanting to be randomly killed from the sky.

So basically, they should go die instead of inconveniencing people with protests?

    Yonge-Dundas Square/Sankofa Square (Brown + Storey Architects)

I mean that's kind of the issue. It's not fine.

I absolutely can. Allowing people to safely reunite with their families here is not the same thing as advocating they must leave so Israeli settlers can move in.

It will bring awareness to the issue and indicate to politicians that there is a strong desire to apply pressure on Israel. Might as well ban all protests.

    Canada and the World

This isn't a movie, you're literally advocating for children to go out and throw stones at bombs being dropped on their heads. For what? So you don't have to be inconvenienced by a protest bringing to light the humanitarian crisis going on?

Hope you never have a family member in another country being leveled with bombs daily, indiscriminately killing civilians, if you think it's "bleeding hearts" to allow families to reunite.

Non-Canadian Palestinians, who no longer have a safe place to live, who have Canadian/PR relatives.

Why should they be displaced so that Israelis can steal their homes and build coffee shops over their cemeteries??

If we're still time traveling in this thread, maybe Israel could have not helped Hamas grow to what it is now by funding it explicitly to destabilize the PLO.
  15. picard102

    Canada and the World

None. If you're already time traveling you can figure out a better way to get Bin Laden without killing civilians in the process. Otherwise, civilian casualties in the name of a crime that wasn't committed yet and you didn't know would be committed at the time is morally bankrupt.

    Canada and the World

Not indiscriminately targeting women and children is a pretty old concept.

    That's not a justification. That's a stain.

    Ontario Flag needs replacing

A shot in the dark would be that the star represents the North star, a prominent icon in Minnesota. The blues are probably the lakes and the snow. Looked into it: The dark blue shape is a simplified icon of the states physical shape, the light blue is lake. Star is indeed the North star.

Nah, we've had a thread locked already.
