Nice try. It is the MLS podium roof with an exterior construction elevator... but close.

I am not a religious man, but THANK GOD! Now we just need to do something about the antennas.

I also couldn't believe that they would be putting townhouses on Bay. Seems out of place.

Should we assume for now that the design will stay the same? It seems to make sense that it would.

It is a bit unfortunate that the mechanical penthouse is so large and bulky. However, they have done quite a good job of screening it from the north and south. I would imagine 18 York will sufficiently screen it from the west. I cannot wait to see the spire in place.

I agree. That is what I was trying to get at.

This is something that concerns urban design more than it does planning. I agree that there is a need to provide variation in building design so as not to create monotony throughout the length of a street. I'm also sure you could argue the issues of balance and proportion either way depending on...

I agree, because it will create quite an unbalanced streetscape "contrada" (comparison of building line placement / heights on either side of the street) on York Street when it is viewed against Maple Leaf Square.

Neither am I, but I assume that quite a bit of work remains on it. Is that correct? Although this will undoubtedly be a beautiful skyline addition, I wish the architects put more emphasis on vertical design elements, instead of using primarily horizontal design elements, to conceal rather than...

I believe this has been discussed at several points throughout the thread, but you are correct. The building resembles many office buildings designed by Mis Van Der Rohe, including those in Chicago, Toronto, and Westmount (Montreal). The latter of which has since been converted into residential...

I may be mistaken, but I believe I have seen development proposals for a few of the surface parking lots to the south and southwest of the site.

This is a fantastic site. The positioning of the tower combined with the eastward jog of Bay Street in this location will provide a stunning visual terminus from the south. I cannot wait to see this project in its completion.
