Well the pictures from Sacramento are of a special livery VIA train, with VIA logos, and the VIA black stripe, unlike ONTC’s livery 1 which has a dark blue stripe. ONTC’s units are scheduled to begin production this May, so we’re still a while off from finished Northlander trains.

There is zero chance these are Northlander sets. ONTC’s sets only started construction this May, and I promise you they didn’t finish a Venture coach in 12 days. This coach is confirmed VIA.

One of the most instructive things to consider when planning new heavy rail corridors is needed additional infrastructure. If you could serve Bolton with zero new infrastructure besides a station (think additional tracks), then sure, peak only service may be acceptable. If CPKC demanded a bunch...

Peak-only services don’t make sense post COVID. Friendly reminder Caledon is also set to grow from 80k today to 350k by 2051. Let’s give them good transit now to help them maybe grow sustainably.
