HOM Cafe is opening where Cafe Baccio used to be on Cumberland/Bellair.

A friend of mine from elementary school used to have her birthdays there. She'd order a gigantic sundae and all of us would share it (yes, all 6-7 of us!!!). Who knows what we're now immune to thanks to the communal bowl.

Some family clubs run buffets daily - mostly to satisfy kids who are picky eaters. There are some kid-friendly items, but parents can pick out more "grown-up" foods for the kids to try without having to order an adult plate for them (only to have them NOT finish).

In reality, we're a buffet. We pick and choose what traditions from the old country we carry on and what cultures we adopt. At least that is the case for those of us born/raised here. We pick up whatever we see in school. A "tossed salad" would be more like someone like me only celebrating...
