    Leslieville / Studio District

Rumour has it that Aft has taken over the former Dark Horse space and will use it for tapas style nibbles for people waiting for a table at Aft, and for people who just want small plates.

Toronto Architecture From The 1960's and 70's

Interesting - I never could quite figure out where the cinema was located.

    Yes, I'm sure: http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthread.php/5006-Cherry-Street-reconstruction-and-streetcar-trackage-(City-of-Toronto-TTC-U-C)?p=953490#post953490

Huh... It also appears his mother passed away from cancer only 4 days later. Sounds like a very sad end to this family.

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

I'm sorry, but I don't buy the line about tap-offs - it's done extensively elsewhere in the world on much busier systems than ours, without issue - including in places where stations are sometimes fairly cramped (i.e. London). And the reason Vancouver's is going badly is not because of the...

    Toronto Toronto | The Carlaw | ?m | 12s | Streetcar | TACT Architecture

Not specifically about this development, but it's definitely related - Streetcar has listed for sale the low-rise commercial building at 349 Carlaw. http://www.ashlarurban.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/349CarlawAvenue-OfferingSummary.pdf?9d60f5

LOL that is literally the floor from the now vacated bank branch.

Miscellany Toronto Photographs: Then and Now

Neat - you can see the old ski hill in the photo from the 60s. It's really mind blowing how quickly that area developed!

River City Condos Phase 3 (UrbanCapital) - Real Estate -

If you've read any of my posts at all, you'd know I have no problem with small units, but there's a huge difference between small units that can accommodate a family, to small units obviously designed for a single person. Toronto needs far more of the former, and far less of the latter, which...

Toronto Toronto | St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

Plenty of people have done exactly that - myself included (not a jam cupboard, but an easy chair). Besides, it's not as if the existing market has suffered from lack of parking.

Interesting about it being on the P1 level. I guess that's where the performance space will be? Judging by my walk-by of the site, I have a hard time figuring out exactly where it is.

TTC: Cherry Street reconstruction and streetcar trackage (City of Toronto/TTC, U/C)

It's open! Walked through it today. Traffic lights at Front and Cherry aren't yet active, intersections are all-way stop.

L Tower Condos (Cityzen, Castlepoint Realty, Fernbrook Homes) - Real Estate -

That would be in your condo rules docs which would have been distributed when you signed your agreement. Typically they're not permitted unless you have a gas connection.

It looks like they're finally mounting the white panels, which are hidden under the protective plastic wrap, visible on the first two floors above the bare concrete. The windows with the fade to white look nice on the edges... I think. It will be hard to tell until it's done.

    Toronto Toronto | The Carlaw | ?m | 12s | Streetcar | TACT Architecture

Wow, then that is, indeed, disappointing. But like others have said, the system is tilted in favour of developers. Buyer beware!

Good news! But the rest of it is ridiculous.

How do you know that curtain wall was originally proposed? It's nearly impossible to tell from a rendering.

    Mississauga Toronto | Mississauga Transitway | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | IBI Group

What good reason is there for not using the Transitway at all times? Is it to re-deploy the buses on local routings? If the route numbers are the same, wouldn't this be even more confusing?

TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

So if Siemens knew they wouldn't get the contract, why would they even bother "playing ball" by bidding in the first place?
