Balcony cladding is going up now. Almost the entire first tower floor of the eastern building has it. Looks the same as the test panels - black, grey, and white. The black in particular looks sharp. Though I'm still nervous that this could look like a mess given the hectic-ness of the pattern...

It's not good, but the cladding saves it from being a disaster at least. My worry is that, based on the renders, as the building rises the cladding disappears, in which case it'll just be a mess of window wall and spandrel.

Additional rendering in the Globe I haven't seen elsewhere yet.

It seems that the parking lots are being retained. Hopefully that changes - I gotta believe there's a business case to bury them by digging down one level and putting something on top. Please, please get rid of the above-ground parking lots.

Part of me hopes the pink flooring shown in some of the pictures is permanent - fits with the Sugar Wharf marketing and is a great colour pop that I wish Menkes had leaned into more here - but I'm assuming the construction material just happens to be pink.

Wow, I wonder if the counterweight (the part that fell) ever goes over the edge or if it always stays over the roof/maintenance floors by design. This is bad, but if that counterweight had of dropped the whole way (possibly hitting the side of the building on the way down) it could have been an...

While it's clear the person telling you it was illegal to take pictures was wrong, I'm curious if anyone has an idea as to why workers don't want people taking pictures of their construction site (I've heard of it happening to other UTers at other sites too)? Risk of documenting safety...

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

Picture I previously took attached - I'm guessing 6-7 trees have this, most of which are covered even more than that picture suggests.

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

@Northern Light , thanks for your update! I've noticed that the lower branches of numerous trees are covered with white/black bumps - they almost appear to be insect eggs. This is particularly in regard to a handful of the trees that are furthest east along the boardwalk (just before the...

So sad that DRP shot down something for being too exciting.

The wording you're referring to is in a draft order - it's the order that the party is asking the Court to approve/sign. There's no indication on the insolvency proceeding's site that the order has been approved and signed by the Court yet.

Thanks TheSix and WeirdFishes - I can't seem to find the site plan for Aquabella on the development application site, but sounds like the lane within Aitken Place Park is no longer part of the plan, so I'll gladly shelve my disbelief about that (although, hard to believe they even proposed a...

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

I readily admit I'm triggered - and as mentioned, I don't normally get hot and bothered about this stuff, but it just seems to be such obviously poor urban planning for a waterfront in this day and age that I can't comprehend the thought process (and I'm normally a strong supporter of Waterfront...

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

Further to my above post, I've found out (as a result of a picture posted in the Quayside thread, which I've attached below) that this is even more ridiculous than I first thought. The portion of Aitken Place Park that runs alongside Aquabella is going to be another road! See "Kanadario Lane" in...

    Toronto Toronto | Aquabella at Bayside | 50.9m | 14s | Tridel | 3XN

I will never forgive Waterfront Toronto for that road on the right-hand side of your last picture. At best it's a useless and unnecessary thoroughway between east and west sides of the Bayside area (unnecessary because there's already a connecting road behind it, Edgewater Drive, so it doesn't...

    Toronto Toronto | St Lawrence Condos at 158 Front | 91.44m | 26s | Cityzen | a—A

I honestly like the height here. The immediate St. Lawrence Market area is all 10-storey (or so) buildings, but that height can't continue on forever in every direction. It will look quite interesting to have tall buildings surrounding the perimeter of the St. Lawrence Market area - it divides...

    Toronto Toronto | East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

My reading is that the City isn't completely opposed to residential towers here, it's just that they need to be careful that this doesn't open the door to lots of residential because the area is supposed to be an employment-first zone. Which I think seems reasonable.

    Toronto Toronto | T3 Bayside | 42m | 10s | Hines | 3XN

This seems to be rising particularly fast. Curious how the price of lumber is impacting this too (though I saw prices have finally started falling).

I'm intrigued but nervous about that balcony cladding. This could look quite unique, or it could look similar to the Daniels mess next door.

I was really excited for the different colours for the bridges. This one should be yellow (or at least orange), but it really looks red. I'm really hoping plans didn't change and that they're making them all the same colour now.
