    Toronto Toronto | Pinnacle One Yonge | 345.5m | 105s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

Pinnacle's seemingly slow approach towards the One Yonge site worries me somewhat. While Menkes is flying with their adjacent LCBO site (constructing three buildings, and construction on them seems fast) and Waterfront Innovation Centre across the street, Pinnacle decided to excavate only for...

Now that is a great looking building! Love the colour splash (looks similar to Sixty Colborne, which together should look awesome). Love what they've done with the roof of the heritage building too.

It looks like C2 is the second (i.e. eastern) office building that is behind the Aqua condos (believe it is referred to as "Queens Quay Place"). Not clear what is going on with C1. But I think it's new that this is planned to be timber. While the Quayside/Sidewalk Labs and George Brown "Arbour"...

I don't actually know this, but I would presume that the judgment calls about whether to build commercial real estate look far beyond the upcoming year or years. This is easily a 25 year investment (maybe more like 30-50 years before a major renovation is needed). So while there may or may not...

    Toronto Toronto | Waterfront Innovation Centre | 53.03m | 11s | Waterfront Toronto | Sweeny &Co

I'm pretty sure the last rendering posted is virtually the exact same as the previous renderings, it's just in black and white. Nothing has changed (other than adding the "Tenant" signs). This building will totally come down to the quality and colour of materials (if you look at the most recent...

    Toronto Toronto | Sidewalk Toronto at Quayside | ?m | ?s | Sidewalk | Snøhetta

Maybe I'm misinformed, but I don't understand the controversy regarding this. Yes, Sidewalk/Google will collect data, which is reasonable since you need data to have better systems (totally made-up example, but you need to know how much garbage I throw out to know how often the garbage robot has...

Not sure I agree. The shadows cast on the furniture clearly shows light going through holes and you can see the furniture through the balcony, i.e. perforated metal.

    Toronto Toronto | Tower at Pier 27 | 114.9m | 35s | Cityzen | a—A

That...can't be real. That balcony glass looks atrocious compared to the renderings. I was so looking forward to having a white building here to break up the green and concrete that was build along the water's edge for the last few decades. This looks like it'll just add more green.

    Toronto Toronto | Tower at Pier 27 | 114.9m | 35s | Cityzen | a—A

I couldn't disagree more. When I lived in the area (for approx a year) I smelled the sugar factory maybe once every month. Some people loved it, I was indifferent to it, but it definitely was not "ever-present". Maybe they've changed the factory, but I would walk by on a semi-daily basis and...

Eh, honestly that article is more encouraging than I expected (and that's coming from someone who despises the idea of a casino). Fideli's comments are that a casino hasn't been discussed, but that nothing's off the table. I wouldn't expect any politician to close any doors at this early stage...

    Toronto Toronto | Tower at Pier 27 | 114.9m | 35s | Cityzen | a—A

Based on my reading, the 25m rule applies to the first 24m in height of a building. Assuming each floor in this building is 11 feet (10 foot ceilings + 1 foot floor) that would mean the first seven floors can have a smaller setback, but then it must be have a 25m setback. So, if a developer...

    Toronto Toronto | Tower at Pier 27 | 114.9m | 35s | Cityzen | a—A

That's really interesting. Why would Cityzen sell the land? I was thinking that the next phase was going to be a big pay-off because they didn't need to dig down any more (the space under both lots is already parking lots) so it'd be a pretty cheap build (while still selling the units at...

That was me. Planned on purchasing the whole building but I decided to be a philanthropist and share it with the plebs.

    Toronto Toronto | Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

Yes, sorry, I wasn't clear. I know of the park. But the park itself hasn't been designed yet. The version of the park in the renders is just an artist's depiction. The front page article says it is "going out to design soon", implying the process to make a final design is starting soon.

    Toronto Toronto | Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 1) | 231m | 70s | Menkes | a—A

Will be excited to see cranes go up here. With the three cranes just to the south for 100 Queens Quay E, this block will be packed. In the front page story for this development it's mentioned that the park "will be going to design soon". Anyone know the source for this claim? Hope it's true...

    Toronto Toronto | Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts | 156.05m | 45s | Daniels | RAW Design

I agree that lack of land isn't an issue per se, but I think more land would be better. It would allow Harbour Square Park to really be expanded (and to allow more land for the western edge of the Yonge Slip to connect over to Harbour Square Park). The Westin should never have been allowed to go...

    Toronto Toronto | Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts | 156.05m | 45s | Daniels | RAW Design

I agree wholeheartedly. I think the issue with the waterfront is the Westin more than Redpath. I highly doubt the Westin gets torn down though, so I think the best solution would be if they created artificial land where the current ferry terminal is and extended the park 100m out into the lake...

I wish the fins were a colour instead of white (similar to Sixty Colborne).
