I like it the best but it does look like they pulled it out of a catalogue of 100s of bridges they have already designed, for when competitions require a response lol

Curious why Canadian Customs is so much smaller, is that because so much more trade is US bound?

    Shabby Public Realm

no, it's just Toronto Hydro incompetence/slowness. A little further west the sidewalk still hasn't been replaced in front of the Westbeach condos either which I assume is part of the same project. But my point is that I don't think any wooden hydro poles including the ones around King/Princess...

    Shabby Public Realm

those are absolutely not temporary, unless you define temporary as 50+ years. Toronto Hydro has been putting those up all over Leslieville/Beaches for the past few years to replace existing wood and concrete poles which then take years to remove. At Queen and Coxwell they installed poles into...

There's the 72B Pape bus which is like a secret express service from Queens Quay up to Queen/Pape then slightly slower onwards to Pape station

Yonge Street Revitalization (Downtown Yonge BIA/City of Toronto)

what's infuriating is when streetscapes are redone and end up looking top notch we end up with things like this, some random wooden hydro pole (8 years and counting) or the "temporary barriers" (3 years and counting). They just don't seem to be on anyone's radar to resolve, or is the only answer...

    Shabby Public Realm

why would there be though, the issue of shabby public realm isn't even on the radar of 99% of the population. When have you ever seen a news article about the topic, or even a discussion on any Toronto social media threads? heck, even on urbantoronto it's buried in the obscure Politics...

    Toronto Toronto | East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

not to mention the street level public realm which is absolutely embarrassing, I was out and about in the downtown core for the first time in a couple of years recently and Adelaide, Richmond, King, John, Peter, Bremner, Wellington etc. all look like absolute trash. This for a city that thinks...

    Toronto's Improving Public Realm

sorry, i was referring to the public realm in general and the initial "great streets" post, not street patios specifically.
