My guess is it'll be a cantilevered staircase or a smaller balcony (but not a whole floor like at Union or the Hangzhou store). It does look pretty hefty but when you compare it to these construction photos I don't think it even comes close. Apple Union Source Apple Hangzhou Source

I was here when they started building the Union Square store. There was A LOT of steel to make that cantilever. We would have seen evidence of something that grand already - likely just to be a well supported balcony if anything.

Looks like the new super columns are reaching to Level 7 which is the first floor of hotel suites. The craziness of angled steel below that (Level 5) will be a double height floor used for Hotel storage (baggage, food and beverage), Level 6 has both residential interior amenities and hotel...

I would imagine we'd see some formwork around them before that. At least that's been the trend prior to previous additions (we're in uncharted territory now 😬).

Frankly I'm just tired of all this down-beaten pessimism for literally any project that hasn't even broken ground. We're already pleasantly surprised by the quality so far. Seems like half the posts in here are just nay-sayers and Toronto-bashers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

And people wonder why Libeskind doesn't get a lot of large projects 😅

This steelwork is really pushing me to my limit...😬 As always best guess and I appreciate the varying angles.

Yes I was referring to those. You can see in the photos they flirt between a champagne/silver and a very light brass depending on the light. Once you put these 100m+ in the sky though lighting changes quite a bit from test panels on the ground so trying to put some educated guesses together.

As cladding goes, and based on the irl pictures we've seen, I suspect it's going to be somewhere in between the architectural drawing (silver/champagne) and the artistic renders (golden/brass). You can see in my drawing below the difference (these are both using the eyedropper from the...

Suppose the side of a building on Bloor wasn't 5-star enough for them.

There's also no leaves on the trees so not really a fair time for judgement (unless we're talking ways in which we can make winter less grey in which case I'm all ears 😅).

Think it really depends on the light. You can see in the second photo it's got a brassy finish to it. Most of the renders have suggested a more muted brass (there's hasn't been a bronze tone to it since the first iterations way back when).

Nice to see some effort on an otherwise completely blank wall. Reflections should be a lot of fun from here.

That horizontal beam added on in Benito's pic should be this circled area. Should be a pretty complicated collection of steel, rebar and concrete as the tower elevator core will sit directly above it.

I think he means the fact that the render from a few years ago and the live cam from a few days ago have the trains in the same spot. The answer to that is that's just one of the places where they keep the cars when not in use.
