    Westminster-Branson

This neighbourhood always ranks low in those Toronto Life articles, for whatever that is worth. I actually think it was once ranked dead last. When we mentioned that we were eyeballing a few of the condo buildings in the Antibes/Torresdale area, we got a look like..."ugh." This area...

Landlord or tenant? Who pays for this type of maintenance/repair?

Correct, these were custom treatments that were part of the unit when we leased, but installed by a previous owner/occupant. Thanks -- when I last spoke to the owner to tell him that I wasn't able to do the re-installation, he said I could call whoever I wanted to help, but that he wasn't...

Landlord or tenant? Who pays for this type of maintenance/repair?

Too late. :) The owner is very old, and recently experienced a significant health setback. He has treated us well up to this point, so I had no problem taking them down for a couple of reasons -- it was easy enough to do, and I didn't want the contractors to be delayed when they came to do...

Landlord or tenant? Who pays for this type of maintenance/repair?

The LTB lines are really busy right now, so thought I'd see if there was any info I could gather here. The condo we are leasing has window treatments that were installed by a previous owner/occupant. As such, they were in place long before we ever took possession of the unit. Due to some...

Yeah, I mean where are all the buckets and water-leakage stains? :)

Sigh. Was hoping to finally get some decent purpose-built rentals as an alternative to leasing condos. Back in Halifax, they are building tons of low-rise, spacious, condo-like rental apartments. Sure, there are a lot of reasons why such projects are not feasible here, but it would be great if...

I can't argue as I have no facts to back me up -- but I'd wager there are a LOT of investors and speculators who bought into this building. This is exactly the type of project that attracts them. I would estimate the actual number of owner/occupants to be lower, but again, that is just my...

Also love the huge VAPE sign facing Yonge. Stay classy, EP. BTW, still astounds me to see the tiny, cheaply built units in here selling for > $900K, when there are larger, better units available for much less in the surrounding area -- not to mention that an extra stretch could get you a modest...

Oops, my mistake -- I honestly thought they bailed, but I guess it was just Chipotle. Excellent -- much appreciated!

Hmmm, the leasing website doesn't show the ground level anymore -- the one that had Winners, Dollarama, BoM, and some of the Yonge-facing tenants like Blaze and Five Guys. https://riocan.propertycapsule.com/properties/yongesheppardcentre/#overview Interesting that some of the original food...

According to the most recent site plan, the approx. 10,000 square foot retail space next to Longo's is still available: https://riocan.propertycapsule.com/properties/property/yongesheppardcentre/id:1582/sitemap_id:443/#plans Keeping fingers crossed that LCBO can claim it, but they are probably...

    How to solve homeless issue?

My opinion isn't popular or well-liked, but I think it's closest to the truth. The answer is you can't fix it. There are always going to be people who cannot (or will not) function in a "normal", conformist way. Whether due to mental illness, addiction, or personality traits such as antisocial...

    2018 Ontario Provincial Election Discussion

The arguments against the hike reminded me of when they started making moves to ban smoking in public places in NS. Restaurant and bar owners were crying that half of their customers would vanish. Oddly enough, despite the ban, people are still going out to eat and drink. :)

This is great news -- when I lose all self respect, they are my favorite burger. And I lose all self-respect at least 1-2 times per month. Man, we are gonna have some awesome food choices up here. Flock, Five Guys, and Blaze will be able to subsist on my business alone.

    Fairview Mall

This is good news. I never go to Bayview Mall, and love poking around bookstores. And they finally installed Presto at the Fairview entrance outside the Sears carcass (even though now you have to walk half a mile to get into the mall as Sears is completely shuttered.)

88 Scott St. (Concert Properties) - Real Estate -

It's like the "Vancouver Leaky Condo" crisis all over again. I think we'll see more and more of this as some of these cheaply built projects start to deteriorate. If they are this bad out of the gate, I can't imagine how bad it will be in 10-20 years.

North York City Centre (Yonge & Sheppard)

I've never seen staff avoid customers so blatantly as I did at this location. I was killing time during a car servicing appointment and wandered in to browse. This wasn't too long after it had opened, and it wasn't busy. Several staff members walked right by me. Not a single one greeted me...

Just being facetious. Sometimes it comes out that way. No offense intended. I've enjoyed it on occasion. But sometimes it really is. YMMV.

Chipotle really seems to have lost the momentum they had a few years ago. I just hope the Blaze Pizza opens. They have a location at Yonge and Dundas Square, but going to Y&D is like crawling into someone's asshole.
