I'm not a fan of balconies on most buildings, but in this case, I'm like - sure, why not? They could be considered an architectural folly.

I honestly didn't mind it! Sometimes natural water is green. It doesn't need to look like a swimming pool.

    Toronto Toronto | Love Park | 3m | 1s | City of Toronto

Taken today, Oct. 14. And my 1,000th post! Enjoying a break in Love Park.

Oh, for some reason, I was thinking the part on Blue Jays Way was heritage - but you are correct, they are both new! Yes, the work on these podium buildings is impressive!

Looking forward to One Yonge being visible from the Harbour Street pedestrian bridge:

I saw Emergence up close today, and it’s pretty cool! Almost everyone passing by stopped to take a look - even the security guards. Great details - think there’s a whole chess set of pieces visible, but didn’t confirm. Kids will love it. And lol - the sign is just a piece of cardboard that is...

The Alley surprised me at the Bay:

Looking great from Mercer! (Oct. 14)

    Toronto Toronto | 55 Mercer | 155.5m | 47s | CentreCourt | Arcadis

Taken today, Oct. 14 A very handsome building - the new podium portion fits well with the heritage without attempting to mimic of duplicate it.

    Toronto Toronto | Nobu Residences Toronto | 156.66m | 45s | Madison Group | Teeple Architects

Taken today, October 14. I gotta say, the ground floor is a jumble, but this street has an incredible scale in person. It’s very Manhattan-esque. It will be very exciting when the buildings are finished.

It's also an uncanny human figure - distorted human figures are what nightmares are made of. I like public art that aims to tell a story and invites viewings from different angles. What I've seen so far is intriguing - I'll have to check it out in person!

    Toronto Toronto | The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

Yeah, it was not a criticism from me! I was just surprised that no one was talking about it even though it was clearly bananas. I'm more in favour of odd-looking art generating feelings in passerby than of some broken abstract shape symbolizing nothing.

Any info on that utterly bananas sculpture? Artist's name, title of piece?

Was surprised to see "Sook-Yin Lee" as one of the designers for the Electric Forest submission - wasn't sure if it was the Sook-Yin Lee from MuchMusic/Shortbus, but apparently it is! Sadly, even though I am a fan of hers, I'm not a fan of the submission. Northern Light and the early commenters...

Looking forward to some fun flooding visuals in the near future. Let's hope the site is "deluged" with them! (*groan*)

A community consultation meeting is planned for next Tuesday:

    Toronto Toronto | Mirvish Village (Honest Ed's Redevelopment) | 85.04m | 26s | Westbank | Henriquez Partners

It's a mini-city! Looking forward to exploring this project when it's open to the public. It's hard to conceptualize how all of the pieces fit together. While I'm not a huge fan of the colour palette, and to some extent, the overall design choices, I do think the way it works with the rest of...

    Toronto Toronto | The One | 328.4m | 91s | Mizrahi Developments | Foster + Partners

I do think there are probably some wacky financial deals going on here - I think you'd need a lot of unorthodox financing to build a project like this if you aren't one of the big established players in Toronto - but the article is about one of the lenders suing their Canadian legal counsel, not...
