The hub is one time-ravaged building - I don't imagine it will escape the wrecking ball.

I hope things like aquafest return to this area- aquafest was one of my fave thing to do as a kid..

    Hamilton Toronto | 129-131 Wellington Street North | 15.19m | 4s | WQP | RAW Design

Nonsense- hamilton now views the poor as "livestock".

All good points guys! Glad to see it went in a good direction! I lived in stoney creek my whole life - hamilton was seen as the "dirty place" stoney creek refused to associate with, until we got amalgamated in and had to accept our dirty reality lol.. Growing up I was downtown a lot as I went...

    Hamilton Toronto | King William Urban Rentals | 97.56m | 30s | LIUNA | Graziani + Corazza

rich people don't wanna live in places that reflect badly on their richness, aka around crazy people - hence why many live in ancaster and dundas or on the plateau - so good luck with that. What are you gonna do, lie to them and tell them the place is a wonderful area full of sane people? They...

    Hamilton Toronto | King William Urban Rentals | 97.56m | 30s | LIUNA | Graziani + Corazza

There are literally people walking around screaming and begging just around the corner from this building, using needles and pooping in the alleyways - you gotta deal with THAT problem FIRST - they might have a nice fancy new place - but theyre still across from a core thats half boarded up and...

    Hamilton Toronto | King William Urban Rentals | 97.56m | 30s | LIUNA | Graziani + Corazza

Sure there's a problem with it - it means these places are like the william thomas and just filled with transitory students whose rich parents pay for them to be there - it's not native-born people settling in the core and forming communities and neighbourhoods. (and don't twist that into a...

    Hamilton Toronto | 129-131 Wellington Street North | 15.19m | 4s | WQP | RAW Design

Things like seams and ventilation punchouts are never included in the renders - as we've all discussed to death that weird treatment of the windows really did this one in, that and the horrible seams. It just looks too much like precast panels with nothing to offset that.

They probably assumed people would be willing to spend more money since it is right in the gore. Some will sure, but not as many as they probably thought.

    Hamilton Toronto | 1 Jarvis Street | 49.5m | 14s | Emblem Developments | Studio JCI

Perfect little spot for someone to pitch a tent lol..

perhaps they need the money to pay the costs of the building and thus need it to sell at the rates they are charging. Or perhaps they need the money to start the next project.
  12. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | 162 Ward Avenue | 115.5m | 38s | R+L

Interesting - a parking garage with rooftop parking as well - we haven't seen that since the eatons center era before many of us were like.. even born haha... but yeah this build feels extremely "crammed in" - doubt this will pass nimbyism. As for the parking garage, because of the track I...
  13. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | 84 York Boulevard | ?m | 30s | Empire | Rafael + Bigauskas

It sets a bad precedent to demolish the other buildings along that strip that ARE of heritage value though, which is a tad worrying.. namely the one beautiful building to the east - I'd hate to see that one go.
  14. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | 84 York Boulevard | ?m | 30s | Empire | Rafael + Bigauskas

*adds another one to vanished hamilton* all for a google sketchup-esque design to replace it.. sighs.. Well at least the render shows rounded glass.. I mean.. if that's what even gets built. It's more the fact something so lackluster is taking its place that bothers me.
  15. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | Jamesville Lofts | ?m | 6s | Marbelle | Lintack Architects

you can pitch whatever type of tent you like! ;)
  16. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | 106 Bay Street | 25.83m | 6s | CityHousing Hamilton | Kearns Mancini

It's probably done intentionally like a subconscious marker. Mind equates it to "the projects".
  17. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | 75 James Condos | 108m | 34s | LIUNA | Graziani + Corazza

Hrmm I don't remember THAT on the render.. Oh wait.. there it is.. super hard to make out though..
  18. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | Jamesville Lofts | ?m | 6s | Marbelle | Lintack Architects

It's the new evolution of downtown chic - open air concept - no walls - just floors and steel beams. 4000 dollars a month.
  19. Chronamut

    Hamilton Toronto | Augusta Block Buildings 2 & 3 | ?m | 8s | Core Urban Inc. | Lintack Architects

They do pretty nice interiors for eateries so it should be nice to see the finished result :)
