Years from now when they tear this building down they will marvel at how not a single person tagged that entire giant wall of concrete - that has to be a first in all of hamilton.

It looks weird to me - I grew up in this area and I'm so used to the hasty market strip being there that it's a shock every time I see it haha.. They're gonna have to increase that sound barrier a bit on the highway.

I honestly prefer high on one side and low on the others - canyons are just dark cold and windy. I like being able to see the sky hehe..

My only gripe is the view of the cool bulgy building next door will be covered up by what, in comparison to everyone else, will be a far inferior looking design. Lest we forget they "downgraded" the design to look more "vranich"-ey:

Yeah should be interesting to see how this one goes - even if the podium had some faux stone facade to kinda keep it in line with the church next door would be cool. I mean one can argue the church's stone facade is "historical" now that I believe a century has passed since it was added I suppose..

This most likely won't get built "as is" due to the concerns brought up over developing the building next door - not in line with the historical character of the surroundings, risk of damaging the foundations of the historical structures around it with vibrations during construction. They'd...

I'd like to see our stalled projects happen too.. tivoli.. connoly.. And maybe.. just maybe.. the parking lot across from the lister block - one of the sorest "wounds" on james st.

Definitely has Toronto vibes in that first pic if you didn't know what city you were looking at..

That's .. what was.. there.. lol.. and IS there lol..

    Hamilton Toronto | 77 James Street North | ?m | 30s | Harlo | srm Architects

I honestly think a well/entertainment hub is needed here - casino/bowling alley/playdium/potential amusement park/waterpark/ritzy hotel- something that makes people gravitate to the center of the city - all these new condos with high paying people - they all spend their money, then spill out...

    Hamilton Toronto | 77 James Street North | ?m | 30s | Harlo | srm Architects

So we're gonna have a farmers market, nations, that little hasty market up the street AND a downtown costco? That seems like a lot of grocery in one place.. that and a lot of people who go to costco drive cuz well.. they but in bulk.. so would the overpass to the parking garage still be kept...

    Hamilton Toronto | 77 James Street North | ?m | 30s | Harlo | srm Architects

Or like an Edmonton mall look where it's all indoors - it'd be the perfect sport for it - or an indoor water park like they have by the niagara casino - where it's basically inside a giant airplane hanger - very cool :) Only problem with an amusement park is unless you build UP there really...

ah yes my bad, same name for both - thought you meant the bar - forgot the other one was called the well.. I can't always remember the name of these new developments lol - but yes this would def be hamiltons version of the well if it ever got built, but I am not confident at all in the fact...
