I love the vertical lines of this building. I wish we had more of that instead of all the horizontal balcony glass we seeing going up. One of the best new projects and my favourite so far in the Humber cluster.
From an architectural standpoint, I don't like clear balcony glass (actually, I don't balconies period but I understand their value to owners). I really wish the glass were more opaque like Harbourview Estates.
Thanks for these, Do you also have some shots of the foundation pour and the first few floors under construction? I have some screen saves from years past but they are super low rez.
Someone has way too much time on their hands! You are not grasping the basic geometry but I don't have time to explain it to you. I do know what I have been told by people very qualified to speak on the subject. Until we have drawings, this argument will not be resolved. I'm out.
Ok, I will bite. In a CFL football configuration, there is almost no end zone seating so your extrapolation to 64 rows isn't exactly accurate. The addition of all that end zone seating would go a long way in an NFL mode. The foundations are anchored in bedrock (georgian bay shale formation...
Most engineers accept that it was the "tube" structural system (allowing for interior column free space) that was ultimately responsible for the demise of the WTC, but let's not go there. As for the amount of additional seats, as was stated already, stadiums with a similar circumference can...
I am a civil engineer with a number of colleagues who worked on the construction of Skydome (as I like to call it) for Ellis Don, so I guess that means "the engineers have chimed in"
The parking would not need to be eliminated. Most of the 100 level seating is on a movable rail system and the parking is actually under the concrete concourse, not the seating areas. There isn't much parking provided anyway. With a much smaller NFL field (both width and length) at a new...
There was definitely talk of digging down. There is no parking under the field, it is under the concourse that rings the stadium. As for the rake of the first level seating, this would actually be improved because it could be made steeper with a dig down (one of the criticisms is that it is...
Quick question, would GO RER and Smartrack be considered a "metro" type of rapid transit. If so, when this is fully implemented, the GTA would have one of the most extensive metro systems in the world.
Agreed, I hate derailed threads. I will stop now. Thankfully, I think we can all agree that it is nice to live in a democracy where the people will speak.
