The western student tower has topped out now and they have the glass up to floor 13 If I counted right. The eastern building is about 14 floors now and has the glazing on the first two floors of residential. By March, the eastern one will really start dominating the U of A skyline.

Now with the NAIT LRT station moving a bit further north, Kingsway Mall is going to be even more isolated from the train. What a bonehead move years ago to not try to integrate the LRT into the mall.

Not necessarily. With Boyle St moving NE from its current location by the time construction is done it might be fairly quiet. Will however take some time to get some life into the space between although the hotel could help speed it up a bit.

If I counted correctly the west tower is at 19 stories now and the east tower has the first floor of residential glass in place. What a difference this is already making. I’m assuming they want the student housing ready for summer to be ready for the 2023 school year.

Putting this in the right place. Scaffolding is now surrounding the whole building as of yesterday and today lots of workers out and about. Looks good that it will have the expansion and the original somewhat kept.

The apartment at 83rd Ave and 108 St that had the fire has scaffolding around it as of yesterday. Looks like it will be saved and hopefully with it the expansion I read about somewhere on this site. (Could not find it)

So far this winter have noticed a much more consistent snow clearing of the MUPs in the SW. First time I have seen equipment out on the paths during a snow storm instead of always waiting for after. City has done a good job thus far compared to past winters

There has been some work on the outer rear portion of the former Scona Cycle location by Mill Creek bridge. And all the windows are covered by brown paper. Curious to see if they are going to subdivide this space or have another large user.

South campus LRT will finally have some density close to it. Now if he U of A could build some student residences near that would be even better.

The outer steel framing is complete up to below the penthouse. Looked like windows were in up to the 3rd floor.

Is there a plan to keep some of the existing trees that have survived all those years or are they going to go the high carbon way and just bulldoze everything and plant very expensive small caliper sized trees waiting 10 plus years for the park to look a bit like the pretty pictures? I would...

EPCOR has been in the dead centre of the future 240 with a drill unit and a crane. Wonder if the U is getting ready with underground services?

The Sporting Life hoarding is now gone from the front. Looks huge inside. Looks to be a few racks inside but no merchandise yet. Wonder if they will be open before for Christmas ? And Safeway has many of their windows now as plywood as well the the west side too. Maybe replacing windows?

Looks to have topped out as they are putting a steel structure on top now. As well the steel framing for her outer walls is up to the 5th floor.
