    Misc. Parks and Greenspace Projects

Please show me where I insinuated certain kinds of people don’t deserve a park… Areas with severe crime, ODs, vandalism, encampments, and other nearby under-utilized parks (and brand new multi million dollar ones at that) are what shouldnt be prioritized for one off investments that won’t...

    Downtown

Nothing I’ve seen from the website or store itself/signage give me much hope for success. Not sure if this is a high schoolers summer project or what, but it’s a tough look for our primary restaraunt street DT.

Cycling and Active Transportation in Edmonton

Such annoying articles. Why do we feature random citizens whining about things they know nothing about? How is that news...

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

This is great to hear. Unique, not just F&B, large footprint.

    Misc. Parks and Greenspace Projects

It’s not about the “right” kind of people. It’s about the purpose of parks, stewarding our resources, and prioritizing investments to maximize the most public good. Would you say the armature was a high quality investment and was successful in its goals? Do you think most Edmontonians would...

    Miscellaneous

Technically there are 3 massive condo & rental buildings across the street plus another few buildings very close by. Don’t think this new one is super unique, but good to see the density I guess.

    Misc. Parks and Greenspace Projects

Out of all the places to spend money….why… This is literally just an encampment zone and will be for years to come. No one wants to be here. And 2 blocks away is the brand new kinistinaw park that also no one uses and is regularly a site of violence, ODs, and crime. There’s got to be hundreds...

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

This is so annoying. Bro. Look at the perceptions of our city…. Look at our tax bases….look at local businesses struggling. No one is trying to make us Toronto. But empty plots of land all over downtown isn’t working either. I’m fine if we pivot our downtown/quarters to try to make it more...

    Warehouse District Park

Is the maintenance for needles/pinecones, sight lines, and bigger bases vs canopy’s why we don’t use coniferous trees as much in high traffic parks?

This a new one? Really excited for where this will all be in 5 years.

Jasper Avenue New Vision / Imagine Jasper Avenue

Just noticed this, sorry if it's been discussed before. Anyone know why they cut these trees? Feel so rare to have big trees, especially in medians in our downtown. Not trying to keep them seems weird. The new planters are beautiful, but could we not road diet a little more to keep the canopy...

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

I'll jump into imagine jasper ave thread to not derail this, but yeah. The prioirty to redo every fricken sidewalk, alley, road, and park in multiple neighbourhoods while not finishing a 20 block stretch of one of our most visited streets (by foot) is just crazy. Also, doing 97-100 st before...

    The Parks | 146.91m | 45s | 35s | 13s | Pangman | Hariri Pontarini

There’s never a good time, but yeah, 20 years is horrible for our supposed “Main Street”. Doing it at the same time as the VLW is likely not ideal. But who knows what the future holds? High level bridge rebuild? Touch the water project impacting river valley road. The upcoming Oliver...

I’m also interested if they’ll do anything to better connect with kingsway. That road kills the walkability of this area.

Horrible pic quickly taken by passenger while driving by haha. But looks like most of the containers have arrived!

    Downtown

It’s too bad the brewery district, for how suburban it is, didn’t get a Home Depot, Canadian tire, etc sorta store. That would have been a decent compromise, especially once the valley line opens. Still close to more SFH residential areas, parking, but also accessible to DT/WHKWN, residents.

    Roads to Avoid

Any exit off the west henday the requires you to turn left shortly after. At 5pm these become nightmares.
