    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Haven’t had time to read it front to back but very conservative and underwhelming for sure. Passenger growth expectations are quite low which sets the tone for a lot of the plan for sure. I love the moving of regional domestic plane gates to the end of the north terminal area which will allow...

    Federal Politics

I guess Yellowhead project got in just in time then. Would be easier to sell and understand this announcement if they had details around where funds typically flowing to those projects would go (i.e. tax cuts, paying off debt, public transit, intercity rail networks, etc..)

    Edmonton Real Estate Market

I can’t buy into a situation where prices get out of control anytime soon either. But prices currently are a good bargain in most areas and property types and we have no shortage of options for a large amount of housing units to be built centrally and otherwise. I have two friends with downtown...

    Edmonton | Boyle Street Community Services | ?m | 2s

Hard for them not to look like the bad guy, I think it looks a lot worse than it is, but tough one to swallow coming out looking bad over a conditional 5 million when they have already given Boyle Street 10 million and basically 2 years of free rent in the space. I'm sure a settlement will be...

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

the corner lot where Jasper ave turns into 124 street would be a fun spot for a nice hotel. Also the Plaza 124 street building I thought could be converted to a hotel but might be a bit small and is being converted to residential.

    10507 to 10539–124 Street NW - Casia Developments - 2 x up to 27 - Proposed

This is a heck of a location and one that absolutely works for this kind of height/density. It's not Westmount's responsibility to accept less people because Downtown isn't able to attract people/development on their own. I would also say that I don't think it's a perfect either or situation. If...

She's a great choice. This could be a crowded field and always interesting to see how that thins out.

Good point on Cidex. Looking forward to seeing what that is about though do wish it was more centrally located.

Would love to see some Delta metal around YEG occasionally beyond the odd NHL charter.

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

Not doubting the friend but does seem odd given the crew base was only large enough to support a handful of aircraft and Westjet is doing a god amount of flying out of YEG now. Would appear to be poor resource management in what has widely been described as a very tight market for pilots.

I would say the East Village development in Erin Ridge would be a 3rd noteworthy project. Also not building related but sounds like Millennium park downtown St. Albert is moving closer to reality.

    Edmonton's Population

I think the city has already met and exceeded their target of 25% new units being infill. The next target is 50% and not sure where things stand there but by the sounds of this we are doing great in this regard unless the argument is the bar was set too low. I think 25% given the costs &...

    Edmonton International Airport (EIA/YEG)

On the topic of destinations for destinations YEG should be pursuing I know we have talked a lot about IAH which is a big gap and fits with the UA/AC alliance but after some review I think missing DFW could be considered one of the biggest gaps we have for two reasons: 1. 5th largest metro are...

    Edmonton's Population

A funny anecdote, I have heard from a few friends as we talk is many of them and others that have moved there and had that as a positive (maybe not a reason) for the city and with hopes of making use of the mountains and then as time passes they realized it's not something in reality they...
