Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Passengers don't have to walk through the full length of the wheel bogies to get to the door, and those who don't sit there won't have to at all, and most make their way to the door before the train arrive at their station anyway. Your claims are a bit out there, Our subway stations are at...

As has been mentioned there where several years of intentional delays put in the schedule by the province, when it was a TTC project, their plan was to open it in phases starting in 2015, which would have been doable since the first phase only had a few underground stations.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Guildwood station was rebuilt a few years ago with room for a fourth track, two centre platforms, I'm sure they were planning around that time to have four tracks to Pickering at some point.

My concern was if the platforms here were each built to the correct height, which considering the other problems they've found

The LRV's are supposed to have load levelling suspension, shouldn't be an issue, so long as the platforms were all built to the correct height. I hope I didn't just jinx anything, and cause more delays.

Two thirds of the stations were to be on the surface, along with three other lines that were to use the same vehicles, of which only one survived, so it made sense to use low level platforms.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

There is also the issue of the signal system needing to be replaced, and the cost of retrofitting the trains to ATC, if the T1's get a life extension, adding ATC to the trains would increase the cost of a refit for a short few years of service.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Regarding the Stouffville Line, I haven't heard or seen anything recently about the section from Kennedy to Scarborough Stations, I know the fly under to the south side of the Lakeshore line was cancelled, but is that section still going to be double tracked and separated from Danforth Rd?

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Is there room for a Multi-use path along here? I'm sure I've seen it in the long tern plans from the city.

I've thought they should've installed short railway crossing arms for the left turn lanes on Eglinton, which I think would be the most likely source of cars that end up in a collision with a LRV. Which should allow the TTC to permit full speeds through intersections.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

Just layout the route at Lawrence the same way as planned at Ellesmere, no pinch point. And if they want to keep with the plan to have northbound buses using Kennedy, there won't be any overlap between each direction.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

If the demand is that much less over time then the busway might have less of a need, if it sustains low ridership over the rest of the year then it can be revisited. But if it is built to Lawrence initially, I don't think there would be extra bus movements that would cancel out the time savings...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Eglinton and Finch will have far fewer switches than the streetcar lines, and a more complex signaling system to manage everything, It can't be worse to have streetcar switch be controlled by an approaching streetcar, with a display or signal sent back to the streetcar to confirm how it is set.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

At the very least the section south of Lawrence should be rushed, there is nothing in the way, and it will get buses off of Eglinton, where they will be disrupted by subway construction.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Most riders are transferring to and from the subway, the ridership east and west of Kennedy is quite different, not at all worth the extra cost of a through line, and the operational issues with such a long line.

Loss of parking spaces Green P lot I'm guessing.
