  1. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

The bottom looks like it’s being crushed under the weight of the sculpture, which I think looks neat.
  2. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | The HUB | 258.46m | 59s | Oxford Properties | Rogers Stirk Harbour

We’re talking about building heights not pipes and wood.
  3. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | 401 Bay Street | 143.86m | 33s | Cadillac Fairview | WZMH

It's not about "accepting the bottom line", it's about not having a stroke over things you personally find ugly. It's really not that deep.
  4. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Yorkville Village: 102-108 Yorkville Avenue | 13.41m | 3s | First Capital | Kearns Mancini

It looks muted and grey in the renderings as well, what were you really expecting? It's also not finished, so perhaps reserve judgement until its completion.

Did I say it was? No. But thank you for assuming. This thread has been extremely overdramatic since the beginning, and I don't think it has been justified for the most part. People acting like this is the worst thing to happen to the city need to get a grip.

    Toronto Toronto | 401 Bay Street | 143.86m | 33s | Cadillac Fairview | WZMH

This has been by far the most overdramatic thread on this entire website.

I find it interesting and also highly convenient that everybody on this website seems to have many international friends that never fail to comment on Torontos architecture when visiting.
  8. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Okay yikes don't get so pressed, it's not that deep.
  9. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

It's a shame when the city has something interesting and different and people still complain. It's either boring or it's too weird, Toronto can't win.
  10. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

Its so odd to cut off the height at 299 metres, adding one extra metre and breaking 300 seems so easy.

I don't really care if these businesses can't afford rent in a similar location downtown. Not every business deserves to stick around, as harsh as that sounds. An increase in rent goes hand in hand with an increase in land value, which this development will ultimately bring. But hey, the now...
  12. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

I understand the disappointment at the loss of intimate scale and unique retailers/businesses, but at what point do we realize that desperately trying to hold onto these unremarkable two and three storey buildings so close to downtown simply due to the businesses that occupy them is a hindrance...

    Toronto Toronto | Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

I'd take "generic" over these shacks that look like they came straight out of a village in a developing nation. Also someone from Philadelphia has no right to talk about the aesthetics of another city.
  14. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

And also let's be real, if they had kept the old buildings for the podium you all would have complained about how it was a "facadectomy" or whatever made up word y'all use. I've been following this website for long enough to know the reactions things have.
  15. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

Oh yes, my bad, that extra one storey really makes the difference.
  16. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | Social at Church + Dundas | 164.89m | 52s | Pemberton | RAW Design

They're upset that the dumpy 1 and 2 storey buildings got demolished because of their "history".
  17. holographic plastic

    Toronto Toronto | 180 Sheppard Avenue East | 25.3m | 6s | HOK

ugh this latest design is trash
