I dig this building. Great to see more of this type of density popping up all over.

The biggest issue with that part of town is perception. It's just not there yet and it's 10+ years from being there imo. It's tough enough to take on a project like this even in the best neighbourhoods let alone this one. And to do this with no pre-leasing was even more of a risk. It also shows...

Yes, they will be demolishing the existing building. Had the pleasure of looking at some of the plans the other day. It'll be fantastic and will extend the retail along 102 Avenue.

They should never have went with black coloured mortar as it doesn't show that well imo. Maybe if they give it a spray down, but even then I'm not sure.

Odd Co. has been busy like this for a few years. It has become one of the best patio's in the city imo.

Keep in mind that the new Gateway Blvd renewal (which will be constructed next season) will alter that existing turnbay and create a wider sidewalk zone between the new curb and building up to 81 Avenue.

The rain likely deterred a lot of people. It's also wasn't all that warm. If the Oil make a deep run in the playoffs the weather will improve and more people will come out.
