If the mayors are asking the feds for help with the housing problem, it's not going to get them very far unless the federal plan is built around exiling the NIMBYs, most of council, and the existing planning department (especially Lintern) to the Northwest Territories where they can have all the...

The white and black panels are not the most unattractive part of the building, but it would have been preferable if they had warmer tones and/or actual color, like most of the area surrounding them. The reason that they look better than the building next door is because they're new. If those...

I think the streetcar loop may actually draw people in and make this into more of a spot, encouraging traffic to/from both direction. Might be wrong, but I think the streetcar loop (as it stands at least) actually looks pretty inviting, almost like a public square more than a streetcar loop...

I agree that black would look sleeker and more upscale, and I would have preferred black, though in this case I'm guessing they went grey in order not to take attention away from the lines of the brick pattern (as the grey disappears better in the background)

I agree with the need to add more density in the yellowbelt, and think that that much of the 'missing middle' talk recently started by the city actually fails to go far enough, as some of these neighborhoods, especially when near good (dedicated right of way) public transit should be converted...

I actually really appreciate the bright yellow. City could use more bright Colors. Have not seen it in person but appreciate when someone in Toronto has the guts to go non-grey for a change

Less window and more stone/brick/etc may look better from the outside as well, however, as a condo dweller, I prefer the floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall windows because they make these small condos feel a lot more open and livable.....I grew up in old buildings with little windows and lots of...

That doesn't look like the white fins in the drawings.....unless those are somehow laid on top of this

Bugs me just as much but I guess they're going to keep putting them in as long as the market demand (and the profits they make) justifies it.

I would be happy if they had the guts to stick to the purple cladding when they actually build this. Between that and the clean tower design I would be happy. I also like that the podium is a bit unique. I can see why someone would call it gimmicky but in a town of grey and blue/green glass...

Agreed about it being very difficult to actually blend in with the existing structure....it is for that reason I'm one of the minority that actually liked the first proposal as it didn't try to blend in and instead tried to do something unique (which this city lacks and which would in that sense...

    Toronto Toronto | 2150 Lake Shore | 215.75m | 67s | First Capital | Allies and Morrison

Original idea and I like it, but I feel like you would have to temporarily shut down and rebuild the entire terminal and it may not be easy/economical to temporarily relocate a business that would hurt many (I presume) if it was shut down for a couple of years.....perhaps the food terminal...

I agree with DopeyFish that the LRT and GO stop are more than sufficient to connect to downtown. The Ontario line would be connect indirectly to Humber Bay through the LRT and GO stops at Exhibition Place stop where all 3 meet. Personally, I'm more curious to see if they work out good...

    Toronto Toronto | Union Centre | 298m | 54s | Westbank | Bjarke Ingels Group

I think that the city should be pushing for a rail deck park stretching from Bathurst to Church, somehow connecting through Union Station. The Oxford Properties, this lot, and that sketchy apartment building/parking garage that stretches from the Esplanade building to Market St (the latter...

My understanding is that there is a plan to run a BRT line from Kipling Station west to Burlington. Though a future subway extension would likely still stop by east mall on its way to Sherway, the BRT would probably negate the need for a Shorncliffe subway station
