It would also seem that the main level of CAB (where the two Tim Hortons are) is undergoing renovations over the summer. Can't find any plans or further info online though.

Found this interesting design of a two-way protected bike lane that retained a certain amount of parking while also providing bike racks, in Victoria. I wonder if something similar could work here.

While we're at it, hopefully something is planned for Victoria Park Rd soon as well to widen that sidewalk into a MUP. The connection to the trail leading to the High Level Bridge/Glenora from there is pretty poorly marked and a pain to access. Given the newly widened Groat Bridge MUP, this area...

The Whitemud pedestrian bridge connecting Royal Gardens and Malmo is closed now for reconstruction, FYI, for those who ride/commute through there. Talked to some workers there and they didn't really know how long it'd take, but my guess is it could be at least up to a month due to the extent of...

Bellamy Hill was the Tour of Alberta KOM if I recall correctly and seemed to work well (it is a tough climb, probably one of the toughest in the city IMO).

They really didn't advertise it well tbh. Only found out about it weeks before, and would totally have done the Sunday ride if I found out earlier.

    You can't fix stupid.

I also wish they could improve that crosswalk, but I suppose they are limited with the LRT being nearby. Not sure if they could integrate a bike trigger/sensor as well but it would be useful here.

I can think of at least two more lights in slip lanes on exits off the Whitemud (perhaps not technically a slip lane?), but nothing like the one in the video... hopefully it doesn't cause too many problems, but the driving habits of some in this city do not exactly inspire much confidence...

Even coming up the hill and wanting to link up with the railtown MUP path down to the east, that section along 100 Ave is a pretty glaring missing link (the pavement condition sucks too).

Semi hot/reactionary take after a bike ride with multiple close calls - slip lanes should never mix with MUP crossings. I'd wager that more than half of the drivers don't even bother to turn their head to look as they cruise through the zebra crossing trying to make their turn.

    Neighbourhood Renewal

New curb extensions/MUP along the west side of 115St in Malmo Plains north of the school.... can we transplant some of these in some 1990s-era suburbs too?

Really... dismount signs?? There is plenty enough room on this trail for slow signs for cyclists I think. That's an at least 10 minute walk otherwise. Guess this will be on the 'avoid' list until August. Sigh....

The new MUP on 115St (speed bump road) behind the UAlberta farm is starting to be constructed - photo from today. The section through Malmo was poured and completed over the last week.

I wonder if they give expanding south again another try? The painted bike lanes in some areas there aren't cutting it (and they do still appear on all the bike maps). I've probably complained about this ad nauseum by now, but the painted bike lanes on 106St now in the Ermineskin/Steinhauer area...

    Neighbourhood Renewal

88 Ave and 109 turned out really nice, it was long, long overdue. Now, for that portion of the MUP heading to the High Level Bridge....

FYI for those who use it regularly - construction on the Malmo-Royal Gardens pedestrian bridge area will be in the first two weeks of July, according to the construction project manager.

Slight rant... I was pleasantly surprised about a week or so ago after the MUP along 111 St near the Blackmud Creek bridge had actually been swept of all the gravel on it. Today however, the apartment complex on the corner of Saddleback Road and 111St had landscapers on their property doing...

There were crews drilling yellow bollards into the road yesterday. Hopefully permanent infrastructure is planned soon for there.
