Unrelated to bike lanes, I'm really excited for the completion of this project, supposedly sometime in the spring. It's a pretty well-travelled MUP for cyclists in the SW of the city, or those going to Cameron Heights out to Devon, and the upgrades were loooong overdue.

Does anyone know if the 110 St bike lane through Garneau/McKernan is complete (to 76 ave) now, and how conditions are if it is? I haven't ridden in the area for quite a while now but would like to check it out.

Interested to see what they think of for rehabilitation of the MUP on the south approach. With the recent Garneau neighbourhood renewal that section really stands out as needing work.

I think that the missing sidewalk had been marked in the Paths for People missing links project years back, so maybe there might be a chance that it gets constructed with the city's initiative to construct those. I'm actually curious to see if they keep the slip lane on that particular...

Never thought of this, but I think you're likely right. I just wish they would have also included some resurfacing for Running Creek Rd as well, as it is in pretty rough shape (probably the same condition it was in when it was still a country road). There's also a missing section of sidewalk...

Hopefully contruction closures to the MUP going up 111St are minimal, as that is pretty much the only connector for cyclists who live past the Henday to commute into the city. Any detours would be extremely inconvenient.

I noticed that the at least a part MUP is open now (have been out of town for most of the previous months) - does anyone know if it is entirely done?

Not sure where else to post this, but the old Connors Road pedestrian bridge repurposing work is now complete, with the bridge in it's new location crossing the Blackmud Creek in the the current 111 St bridge area.

Late to this, but here is another example of the Saddleback Road (in the SW) painted bike lane near the 23 Ave intersection, earlier this year. Street parking right beside it, 2 parking lot access points (sightlines obscured by parked cars), and a busy intersection ahead of people making turns...

I also have to laugh at the 40km/hr sign there because with a street designed like this, you know damn well that nobody is going to adhere to it. With how car-centric this city is (and how selfish some drivers are) the most effective traffic calming method, I feel, is by road design... not sure...

The connection to the MUP/crossing changes are welcome, but overall it is pretty underwhelming.

As a frequent winter cyclist, I'd argue that the freeze-thaw cycle is worse to deal with as opposed the -30 or colder days.
