    Toronto Toronto | Eglinton Line 5 Crosstown West Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It's incredible how much more density exists on Eglinton east of Kennedy compared with this stretch. I don't see the value in connecting Line 5 to Pearson when travellers could just transfer at Mount Dennis from the UPX to head Midtown. I think it's funny that Weston had to fight for a stop on...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT: Eglinton Station | ?m | 1s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Most of the construction unions in the city are well known in racialized communities to be incredibly and openly racist. Literally know of first hand accounts of bananas being thrown at personal friends, etc. Due process isn't followed, so with any complaint job security is at risk...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Ummmmm 700m per km, can we not find a way to reduce the costs further? Is this a joke? I'm finding it hard to believe that we are doing all we can to reduce the costs on these lines. What's happening with the Federal Gov't infrastructure Bank? Can we not ask China (nicely this time) to help...

Fun fact, Toronto never wanted the subway on Bloor.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I'm always shocked at the lack of development along the Danforth and Bloor West, while certain areas far from RT like Humber Bay Shores are booming. The nature of transit in this city is very much from feeder routes especially in the suburbs. Are there any statistics detailing how many transit...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

It feels weird arguing that Sheppard should in fact be extended east as a subway when I spent years arguing the opposite. I don't see how connecting five heavy rail lines to one another in a transit starved, fast growing environment such as the GTA would result in "well under subway level...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

A Sheppard Extension would connect Line 2 at McCowan, GO at Agincourt, Ontario Line at Don Mills, Line 1 Yonge, and potentially Line 1 University in a westward extension...Connecting Scarborough with York University and Yorkdale with a quick transfer. This line would not be underused. I...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Those are exceptions when referring to “streetcar service.” The context is also very dissimilar, urban small blocks vs suburban larger blocks. Line 5 is also expected to operate with full transit priority and much larger trains.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

it’s also worth noting that the last rapid transit line in the city that was fully funded by the province took the same approach of a one size fits all for the stations. Line 2 - Bloor Danforth.

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

Adding new stops to GO lines isn't a new idea. It's just that the province would repeat over and over that GO is for the (905) and the Subway for the (416). The current political atmosphere wasn't changed by Tory's Smarttrack, either. It was changed the year prior when Wynne was elected with a...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I stated that there was room for improvement. However this still doesn't negate the fact that there are cultural institutions in this neighbourhood that have been in place for the last half century. Whether you chose to engage them or not. Not saying I'm opposed to change. What I was saying is...

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

This is laughable. Now, I'm not saying there isn't room for improvement. But common, we have enough dried up areas in this city culturally, I'm hoping not to add this to the list.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

I mean... We may lose generations of culturally diverse businesses in lieu of RBCs and A&Ws with no soul or cultural value. That would be tons worse than what we have now on Eglinton West. Hopefully we don't.

    Laneway Housing and Garden Suites

Does anyone here have any experience actually building or finding a contractor to construct a laneway home? Looking for insight. Since the city is waiving permit fees for laneway homes for the time being I'm thinking now is the time.

    Toronto Toronto | Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

So, question... Consdering that you cannot walk from car to car on these trains, what is the emergency protocol? I guess the fact that this line uses centenary removes the danger of the third rail. Anyone have any knowledge on this?

    SmartTrack (Proposed)

Fare zones within Toronto, no matter how you draw them, would disproportionately effect people in North York, Etobicoke and Scarborough. They travel further distances due to the suburban built form. You can say 'tHaT's YoUr FaUlT fOr LiViNg iN tHe SuBuRbS' but this ignores the reality that most...

TTC: St. Clair Streetcar Right Of Way

LOL.. Earlier this summer I was riding along King with a friend near Jarvis, one of those planters forced me onto the tracks. There was a water main break that hadn’t been attended to. My front wheel slipped on the track causing the bike to oversteer. This sent me summer saluting through the...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

You wouldn't be able to reconfigure the streetcar network to run standard LRVs as the turning radii would result in tracks on the sidewalk at many points in the network.

    Transit Fantasy Maps

This map combines John Tory's Eglinton East LRT with a early 90's proposal to extend the SRT to Malvern Town Centre to create one single line.

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

I don’t see any real possibility of that, do you? Unlike Rob Ford at City Hall, Doug Ford has many funding tools at his disposal to bulldoze this through. He is too politically invested in this particular project. More likely, the project will be delayed. By how much who knows. All that I...
