    Toronto Toronto | Alexandra Park Revitalization | 53.48m | 15s | TCHC | SvN

What a beautifully scaled neighbourhood! I can't wait to see how this effects Spadina Avenue as it has been mostly void of developments on the majority of it's length. I really hope the architects are inspired by Kensington, it would be nice to see the vibrant colours to the north continue...

Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension

It does make sense.. But we also have to ask what would be best for Scarborough City Centre.. 7 stations as opposed to three, much closer to the development occurring in Scarborough Centre, especially if Brimley station is eventually added. I personally think that rebuilding the current RT would...

Stockyards, The (30 Weston Rd. @ St. Clair, retail, Trinity, 2s, GreenbergFarrow)

With all the traffic in the area already and new streetcars coming to St. Clair in the near future I can't wait to see St Clair slowly redevelop. This is great for the area. And when Georgetown finally electrifies and a station is eventually returned to the Junction, this area will reach it's...

TTC: Dufferin Station Modernization (TTC, U/C)

The tile looks nice. But without updating the look of the flooring as well as the ceiling, it will be a wasted opportunity.

    Toronto Toronto | Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I actually thought it was the crane to the right in the picture! I guess I was mistaken! I couldn't even imagine what the view will look like once Aura, 1BE, Massey, Oxford, Mirvish, 50 Bloor are completed, not to mention the dozens on others. Thank you.. Remember the location! It's open to...

    Toronto Toronto | Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

That shot is from Dufferin and Davenport! On the north east corner of the intersection there is an abandoned ramp up the side of a small bluff that used to lead to a school.. As you walk up the ramp the skyline reveals itself! For anyone who loves finding new vantage points to take skyline...

Aura is starting to show itself from this vantage point!

    Is Toronto Beautiful?

Beauty is subjective. A truly balanced person can find beauty in anything.

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

You both would rather disrupt one of the busiest surface routes in transit, and retail in the entire city than use a street 50m away with no transit and significantly less retail activity? Queen West retail is already suffering slow sales. I couldn't imagine what would happen if you dug it...

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

Richmond is about 60m from Queen. It would be less desirable to construct the line on King or Queen because using the cut and cover method would cause too much disruption, especially to transit vehicles. Any alignment chosen whether it's Wellington, Richmond, or Adelaide wouldn't be far away...

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

I agree with you.. BRT is effective, but not on routes like Eglinton in Scarborough or even Sheppard East. I see BRT on streets like Kennedy, Markham, Victoria Park, Kipling, Lawrence... As a past forumer on SSC I have to say that TRZ's proposal for the DRL would have to be one of the best...

    Downtown Rapid Transit Expansion Study

You are absolutely correct. The Canada Line used the cut and cover technique during construction and I believe the same can be done with the DRL in order to save hundreds of millions. Richmond, Adelaide and Wellington provide the perfect opportunity to build the DRL cost and time effectively.

U.S. Congresswoman calls for high-speed rail linking Manhattan to Canadian cities

Why not just extend Acela HSR that already connects Boston, Philly, NYC, DC and Baltimore up to Montreal, and from there onto Ottawa and Toronto. Then from New York directly to Toronto via a bypass of Boston, Montreal, and Ottawa that would connect to an existing Toronto bound HSR line in...

    Transit City Plan

Ah, I see what you're saying. We share a common grievance, and that is the fact that when LRT is built in the outer 416, frequencies are going to be so low that it may have the opposite effect on ridership along the corridor (a la 501 Queen post-articulation). I have to admit I do like your...

    Transit City Plan

You know, Gweed123, I really like where you're coming from after looking over your Move Toronto plan. It does make sense. I'm curious, however, on why you propose to change all of the proposed LRT routes to BRT? Is it to save money by cutting capacity? Is it because you think it's a more...

    Toronto Toronto | Hullmark Centre | 167.94m | 45s | Tridel | Kirkor Architects

No, you can blame that on the Suburban built form of North York. While North York isn't exactly as sprawly as anywhere the 905, it's still suburban. The entire "city centre" is located along one street, while the areas surrounding Yonge are still quite suburban in nature. Part of the reason why...

The world's longest bus seats 256 people

That's an interesting fact, especially considering that Dufferin is a Major Arterial Route. It's funny to see that the original Dufferin route was the northern section, and the extension was to the south. I'm to assume that the 63 Ossington as well as the 47 Lansdowne were carrying the load...
