Like Radio City (80% LGBTQ) and other towers in the area, the population will be predominantly LGBTQ with some students added in given teh small size of some units. I doubt there will be any significant impact on Pride apart from maybe adding to the crowds.

Well, looks like they are getting serious with demolition. Scaffolding up around the site now as well as some drilling equipment.

I am a little surprised given 365 Church is just across the street and they also have another large development just kitty corner to it at McGill and Church. This one will get reworked and then approved. A shame they could not somehow incorporate the old Barn building into the overall design...

Don't worry, it will be filled by three Starbucks locations (all of which will have long lines and slow service), a bank and an upscale juice bar.

Well, they seeded teh lawn and got it nice and green at the location...jsut in time to drive all over it again with heavy equipment. You'd think they would do that before the landscaping...

Sorry for asking this if it is already answered but will this building (and the rest of the Ryerson Campus) be connected to the path via the Dundas Square complex? Seems like it would be a no brainer given teh short distance.

A direct connection to the streetcar station would also be nice, from a pedestrian and dirver safety point of view. Somehting wheelchair accessible too given there is a requirement to make it so if there is new construction or substantial reno. What would make my day is actually a two level...

I hate the incontinuity of the facade 50 storeys up too but it is the section that accomodates some mechanical rooms. It's my understanding that glass isn't possible as they have to vent the rooms to the outside. Still, they could have tried a little harder to get it right.

It will be interesting to see how they manage the problem of smoke coming from Oldfellow Hall. THe restaurant in there has the exhaust on teh roof. I've seen the greasy black smoke billowing out on many occasions. I wonder what sort of accomodations they are going to have to make with that...

I saw one of the brochures. I huge chunk of it is in Chinese. It's clear which investors they're targeting.

In addition to power issues, it seems taht Rogers is having some major internet service problems related to the storm. Many folks, even in areas unaffected by the blackouts now have spotty internet service at best.

I live in a condo but I cannot imagine living in CityPlace. Every time I go by I can't help but think it's a soul sucking ghetto for yuppies.
