Bruce Power: New Nuclear Generation Capacity

And residential German electricity is also about 4 times more expensive per kWH than residential Canadian electricity and 9 times more expensive for industry. https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Canada/electricity_prices/ https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Germany/electricity_prices/ I don't...

Bruce Power: New Nuclear Generation Capacity

Even without population growth, decarbonization requires drastic increases in electrical generation. Ontario lacks the geography that would allow for offshore wind (except maybe in the Hudson Bay) or vast deserts for solar and has used up most of the good hydro sites so ultimately Nuclear is...

Bruce Power: New Nuclear Generation Capacity

Good luck on that, because immigration is controlled by the Feds, not the provinces. This is entirely a matter of scale. Uranium Ore is many hundreds of times more energy dense than coal, or natural gas. And its waste is hundreds of times less voluminous than CO2. So it doesn't really matter...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The Richmond hill line is not as unfixable as you make it out to seem. 1. Express Line 1: sure it can’t be an express line 1, but if you take the Leaside Spur you can have it be as fast as Line 1 and divert ridership from the east. This would unlock the most benefits for the line, allowing it...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It would probably look something like electrifying, double tracking and reconfiguring (retracking the Leaside Spur and Half Mile Bridge) the Richmond Hill Go Line. Would provide the subway style service north of HWY 7 and provide and express option to Union and the East West subway lines

    Transit Fantasy Maps

Love the map and the concept. I especially like how it covers pretty so much of Southern Ontario and is so comprehensive with the coverage. 1 criticism I have is that there are alot of services and it is hard to tell instinctively a REX from a regional service and that on the map, it is hard to...

That’s CPs midtown line. Which will cost 20billion to pry from their greedy hands. For that price we might as well build a Line across Lawrence or another Eglinton line.

Then make the bus lanes. Make the separated bike lane network and get cars off the streets. This is something that other cities have already solved. We can keep pandering to motorists over and over at the detriment of literally everyone, or we can actually be progressive on climate change and...

    Transit Fantasy Maps

A great E-W corridor for a rapid midtown corridor would have been Eglinton. If we had designed Eglinton Crosstown for full grade separation, high floor heavy rail, with 1-2km stop spacing then it would be the Midtown corridor you are asking for. Could've been Crossrail Toronto, but nope, we...

Sheppard Line 4 Subway Extension (Proposed)

Do people living north of Steeles teleport to work?

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I stand by my words that none of these "streetscapes" would be diminished if a skytrain was running down the middle. None of these places should have outdoor dining next to them, nor should any of them be considered anything besides a car sewer.

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Why not have a full subway running down the stroad? Its not going to be louder than the car traffic thats already there. Why would a subway running down the road prevent urbanization? Japan, Chicago and Vancouver run elevated trains along their roads and urban areas too without much trouble.

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Why wouldn't an elevated train work through Thornhill? Yonge is still a stroad there too. The same argument about Yonge north of Hwy 7 also applies to Yonge north of York Mills. From York mills to Newmarket, Yonge is a 6 lane stroad with center turning lanes. Take out those center turning...

    Richmond Hill Toronto | Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Yes. Yonge is a 6 lane stroad between "old" Richmond Hill and Newmarket. And old Richmond hill is so small and the lots around it so low density and large, you can just go around it if you thought 10 shops and a church were invaluable pieces of our heritage. Take out the center lanes, do...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

We do have the transit system required to support that level of density. 4 Go tracks from the east, and 8 GO tracks from the west, 2 tracks for each branch of the Yonge University line and the Ontario Line is more than enough heavy rail transit for Toronto (at the moment), provided we create the...

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Well, well! It turns out you don't need a monster CABLE STAYED BRIDGE to CROSS THE DON RIVER after all! How did our highly knowledgeable, qualified, enlightened burghers at Metrolinx miss this one?

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Metrolinx is learning. Thats why we're not building the new interchange stations directly under the existing Line 1 and Line 2 Stations. People hate the long interchanges but it reduces construction risk and cost. Its why the Ontario Line is having parts built elevated. So that various bugs in...

Honestly, the Sheppard stub and Eglinton Crosstown should swap technologies.
