The giant block of grey concrete is such a lost opportunity. The government subsidy for this project would be better spent re-educating our architects

That's true about Brampton. Im not sure if riders figure into any of york's plans at all.

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

Yrt is a giant investment in fake transit, .while remaining entirely car dependant and hostile to walking. It's worse than doing nothing because it's saying "look, we built it and transit in general is unappealing and can never work".

York Region Transit: Viva service thread

The Davis rapidway is not very helpful, the other buses dont use it, so it increases the amount of time you have to wait! If you wait in the overbuilt stations, the regular buses pass by and you cannot get on them, also, the entire route is the same distance as Yonge to Dufferin, 4 km! thats...

    Westin Harbour Castle (?, ?, ?)

My point is that pier 27 has the same antisocial and sub-urban design that cuts off pedestrian access and alienates people. Asking for it to be more like 27 is just asking for it to be made out of a lesser material for more money without solving the issues that make that area gross.

    Westin Harbour Castle (?, ?, ?)

sorry. Where is the open path? I haven't seen it, only those glass walkways that I haven't ever seen a person in (more like walls than walkways). In any respect I wouldn't call that scenario porous, but if there is a walkway then there is.

    Westin Harbour Castle (?, ?, ?)

quay 27 doesn't allow for any waterfront access, it uses ground level glass walkway walls to keep everyone out.

I dont understand why they cant be forced to use actually nice materials, like carved stone. its not like they dont have the money!

beige is beige. All those seniors who bought "champagne" cars in 2005 were buying beige cars. shininess is not a colour, champagne is just shiny beige. also champagne is just sparkling wine, and wine is Yellow, or dark purple.

I think that you guys are being way too easy on this just because you like roncesvalles. In my opinion, the materials look as cheap as you can get and the design is very designed-on-a-1980s-mac.

Am i missing something? its made of grey siding, and the squares on top are jarring. I'll believe in the lush greenery after its been in place for a few years. Usually stuff like that has a way of being left out or radically reduced when the time comes

this looks even worse in person. What a shame too, it's such a lovely part of town, something really nice could've gone here.

Went by this today, the podium of six stories ( i think) is done, and one tower is about 10 stories and the other just a few.

    Planned Sprawl in the GTA

I'm up in Newmarket this week in the area south of green lane where the 404 hwy used to end. The highway now goes until ravenshow rd. Not so surprisingly, traffic congestion on Leslie street adjacent to the highway is complete mayhem. When a light goes red two lanes of cars each direction...

I think it's good. What an improvement. The windows probably won't open which makes me sad though.

The new park is amazing! such an improvement. And I was very pleased that there are in fact benches to sit on. Me bones can rest!

    Vaughan Toronto | WaterGarden | ?m | 6s | Minto Group | P + S / IBI

this is almost done. the frontage on Yonge looks better than the rendering, which is unusual. It will be interesting to see what goes in on the ground level.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Seating is actually a health and safety issue for a growing portion of the population. It's ridiculous! I've never seen any sort of stats saying seating causes crime, and if were going to beleive Jane Jacobs, it could be quite the opposite. A lot of these people need to move back to oakville...
