thanks for the update. How are you going to handle the bridge and the old tram support on the side? seems like a heck of a project to get into... I hope your final project is that colour of brick, or even deeper red. Not enough real red bricks these days.

That's the first time I've ever heard that said about church street. Yonge has WAY more useful shops. Church has a few boutique shops and the rest is fast food and bars that don't rely on regulars (so they're crap).

Roads: Keep the Gardiner, fix it, or get rid of it? (2005-2014)

Im not campaigning, Im just saying what I believe to be the truth, so its OK. It is tragic that we have to lie to and dote on Scarborough like its a spoiled brat child instead of an active member of the Toronto household. Its even more sad that this has been going on for seventeen years or...

Honestly, maybe if they don't want to be taking the bus forever, they should stop voting for people that cancel every transit improvement that comes up. Which has been a lot, lot, lot more times than anything has ever been cancelled in the rest of the GTA. nobody can help them if they are too...

I assume by their agency you mean their car? The rest of the gta doesn't have anything close to the Ttc bus service in even deepest scarb

Actually, no, there are more Go train stations in Scarborough than any other borough in Toronto. The lakeshore line has the best frequency of any of the lines, But also the Stouffville line has Kennedy, Agincourt and Miliken stations, and Old Cummer and Oriole are very close to Scarborough in...

Toronto Urban Sprawl Compared to Other Cities

the maze only effects drivers, people walking can keep going through. this is the same as the traffic calming that Jane Jacobs made in the Annex, its to make it so that the residential streets are safer and quieter. it is not the same as actual mazes where cycling and walking are inhibited by...

The best-case scenario would for the section near Jarvis to just fall down in the middle of the night, with nobody getting hurt. Then we wont have to hum and haw for another decade and waste our time on such an obvious decision. It shan't be! tear it down.

Upper Village (LEED Silver, Markham Rd n of 16th, Greenpark, 2x 23s, Kirkor)

Even though Markham is the epicentre of "new urbanism", I can't think of a single neighbourhood that is walkable. It's a farce. A big, expensive, low quality farce.

Upper Village (LEED Silver, Markham Rd n of 16th, Greenpark, 2x 23s, Kirkor)

There is no excuse for a condo to have a front yard parking lot. Complete garbage.

-David the realtor- I'm sorry what streetcar vs subway vote are you referring to? Toronto is not building and streetcars lines to my knowledge.

You can see it poking above That crappy building on queen with the parking in front of it now. Speaking of, when is that going away? Can't believe Abel street gets demo'd while we keep that peice of junk. Queen west is nice but @hamiltonian is right, this pocket of condos is garbage, all of the...

    Downtown Markham

@RC8: Obviously these two are downtowns that are meant to be driven through. the best of both worlds! high density with (literally) crippling isolation. I kid, but at the same time these projects are the antithesis of what people who live in real downtowns consider urban. Its a pod, made up...

    Toronto Toronto | YC Condos -- Yonge at College | 198.42m | 62s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I am confused: "South is clear at 13 floors"? isn't Aura literally one building south of college street? making it more like clear after 78 stories?

The food court and concourse level is straight out of penatang. Peice of garbage embarrassment.

    Toronto Toronto | 2 Queen West | 34.44m | 7s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

Most of the rail in Ontario was speedily removed in the 50s and 60s by an idiotic government. Our current sprawl / lack of villages or transit is not innate to our history, but manufactured. I would also point out that aging sprawl itself can act as a barrier to further sprawl: there comes a...

"kill the Vibe"... of the Pizza Pizza building? not to be rude but i think that would be OK. I would like to see it saved, and for the vibe to change a LOT.

    Toronto Toronto | Oak Heights | 104.24m | 32s | Linwood Management | Sweeny &Co

Good to see different uses coming here. So many people live here, but the block suffers from the same ills as any tower in Etobicoke in terms of being designed for cars with a terrible public realm and none of the usual things you expect to find in a toronto neighbourhood.

    Toronto Toronto | U Condominiums | 183.79m | 56s | Pemberton | a—A

After this is done is it would help to install a crosswalk or lights at St. Mary st to help the increase in pedestrians this will surely bring to an unsafe intersection.
