    MacEwan University School of Business | ?m | ?s | MacEwan University

    Edmonton | Charles Camsell Redevelopment | 39m | 8s | Five Oaks | Dub Architects

back in the year whenever, I needed surgery to fix my 3rd broken nose. At the time, both the UofA and Royal Alex had big wait times so my surgeon booked some space at the Camsell. Jasper Gates Redevelopment | 90m | 30s | RioCan | Stantec

^the area couldn't even support the 7-11 across the street from the old IGA, nor, it seems, the Anatoli Food store as they haven't rebuilt in the area for several years since the fire.

the protruding wings enclosing the balconies have a brick texture; either stamped into the precast concrete or an added veneer.

    Edmonton | CNIB Redevelopment | 106m | 32s | ONE Properties | Wallman Architects

web site has little info. Interesting that early on, CNIB was touting that (some?) units would be specially designed for people with sight disabilities; yet none of that is addressed on the web site either.

^ yup. studios and/or 1brs targeting students. When VLW gets going will probably be attractive to UofA students as well.

    Edmonton | Oliver Crossing | 21m | 7s

those are going to be quite small units. If you look at the photo and assume the unit's front door opening is 3' wide, then counting the slabs door to door is just 15' Each unit then will be under 500 sf; possibly even less than 400 sf.

When I first moved here in 1980, the south end of 96st was just a collection of flop houses and sketchy hotels; was the worst couple of blocks I had ever seen in my life.

    Edmonton | Valley Line LRT/ Valley Line West | ?m | ?s | City of Edmonton

^most likely done as part of accessibility; parents with strollers, bicycles, others with mobility issues. But you're right, the majority of able-bodied folk will shortcut and they should have planned for that from the get-go.
