I'm beginning to worry that it's not actually going to be an Oilers store, but rather zamboni space for the plaza rink. The June 2021 floor plans show just a small space there, and the rest of the area in the podium as Available Retail. Hopefully it just isn't updated, though? The Ice District...
Interesting find on their website, it looks like they're renovating the Quest tower podium. Thankfully, it looks like they're getting rid of that awful tinted glass!

Not sure if this is the place for it, but noticed a minor thing. Looks like there are some trees being planted on the south side of Baseline Rd around 49th street, and some prep work for some in the median between 49 & 50th streets too. I'll never say no to more greenery!
The contractor website has Fall 2022 as the original timeline. Unsure how the reported bridge supply delays may change this.

I have no idea if this is still accurate, or planned, but back in 2019 the City had rehab for the Low Level (both spans) planned for '2024-2025 at the latest' per Global. Let's hope that's still the case...
Using timing of the Tegel example isn't entirely fair, in my opinion, as it's comparing a plan vs Edmonton's actual experience. A bit unfair until we see how Tegel actually plays out.
Keep in mind, the last runway at Blatchford closed in late 2013, so we are 8 years after actual work could...
Has there ever been a landscaping plan (or even render) released? All I could find on the website is "Continued landscape naturalization and additional tree plantings."
Curious to see how much tree planting they'll do. Would be nice in the median and make it feel more like a parkway.
I'd assume it's for fare zones, yeah. The way Vancouver did this was that all buses are 1 zone (so you only have to scan on), but the additional modes (SeaBus and SkyTrain, for example) are multi-zone, so you have to scan on & off. But they're set up in such a way that you can't even enter /...
Swipe on will definitely be needed everywhere, which makes sense. It's more the swipe-off requirements that can complicate the system that I'm very curious about. Vancouver's buses do allow for rear-door loading by having a machine at that door as well, so that part would make perfect sense.
Have full details been released on how the Arc cards will work as far as swiping on/off goes? Was in Vancouver a few weeks back, and the way the Compass system there works is so easy and should be the standard Arc strives for. Swipe on/off for SkyTrain & SeaBus (since it can be multiple zones)...
Even their 2 beds are on the smaller side, so I'm guessing they were just trying to squeeze as many units in as possible.
On Rentfaster, they list 1 bed at $1,100 and a 2 bed at $1,275. So if we assume a studio goes for $1,000, if the squeeze a 2 bed + studio into roughly the same space as a 3...
Exactly this. As badly designed as it is on the outside, and as much as I hate the project overall, $1,200 for a 2 bed, semi-downtown in a concrete building is a pretty good deal and will absolutely fill up.
They are doing just that, thankfully! I believe in a re-worked AC-101 space (on 104 Ave / 103 St corner, with adding a Zamboni room for the plaza rink), but someone may know better on the exact location.
Will be called "Ice District Authentics" and I know I'm intrigued to see it. I really hope...
Drove down Terwillegar last night, was surprised at the progress already made between Whitemud & Rabbit Hill. The new Bulyea Rd straightened intersection looks nearly complete, and lots of grade work done right through to Rabbit Hill. Not much between there and 23rd, but then it picks up again...
