Storm pond in Blatchford looking great! It's really too bad they didn't follow through on making it a usable lake, though...

I hope the City can find a way to extend the LRT 1 extra stop from the current plan to reach the hospital right away, would be nice to have access as soon as the hospital opens.
City of Edmonton is now considering Valley Line West to be under construction, and have put out an updated website & route booklet. "Will take 5-6 years to complete"

Didn't see a dedicated thread on this project, but I stumbled upon a (likely conceptual) drawing of the bridge & connection.

Foundation has been poured, framing well underway. Certainly has a smaller setback than its neighbours, but is still a good chunk away from the street. A miss, given what the eventual plan for 101 Ave calls for :/
What surprised me is that it's being framed with wood. I can only ever recall...
Does anyone know how large of a portion of that CRU they're converting for the Zamboni? Would be a shame if the whole thing (or large portion, anyway) became back-of-house. Also hope the overhead door is on the east side of the space, not directly facing the plaza just for aesthetics of the plaza.
I think if they can achieve a similar effect to this (also looks lit from the bridge deck) it will have a very nice, subtle and classy outcome.

Drove by earlier today - the trees along 101st have been boxed off for protection, fencing up, and some dumpsters in the alley (looks like they're clearing out the existing houses). Excited to see this one get moving!
That is an absolutely phenomenal looking development. Looooove this iteration way more, the pedestrian activation and the treatment of the old Royal Bank building is head and shoulders above V1. Get this thing going!
This would be a phenomenal project to see go forward. Really hoping we see a design that doesn't ignore all the street frontage on this one. I'd love to see a somewhat curved tower to integrate well with Victoria Promenade / Jasper on all 3 sides of the parcel that would have road frontage...
I dunno, seems like a definite improvement over what was there before? Even has essentially the same square pattern, just some accents added. In a perfect world it would be torn down anyway. ;)
