    Montréal Transit Developments

I would love to see Toronto do something similar to Montreal's REM, albeit with higher capacity trains. I believe the max capacity projections are around 14400 ppdph (24 trains x 600 people). REM is supposed to use Alstom Metropolis vehicles, which in a 6-car configuration would have a total...

A spur to STC could replace the Line 2 extension at a much cheaper price tag. Land expropriation is I'm sure a complex issue, but necessary to build proper infrastructure. Redistributing dedicated funds from the Line 2 extension could offset the cost, but at some point Tory pivoted.

How hard could it be to dedicate a track pair to Toronto/GTA focused service? Seems realistic to implement if the political will existed. You're right though that Tory's ST is a napkin drawing, but aside from being a political ploy to get elected the idea itself of a dedicated service has a lot...

Yeah I agree that makes the most sense. I've lived in cities with far more extensive transit services than TTC/GO combined. S-Bahn & RER make GO Transit look amateurish in comparison. I have little hope that any level of government in this country will ever build what is needed, but ideally...

I don't understand what you're trying to say exactly. As is the Stouffville line attracts 15k riders per day. As an actual useful Metro line it could easily most likely attract more than 15k ppdph. How is the current GO line better for anyone?

ST would have been a good idea if it was more refined. I feel like if the Stouffville GO Line could have been downloaded to the city of Toronto post electrification, making it a subway line instead of remaining part of a commuter rail system. Same with the Richmond Hill GO Line, it could have...
