    Toronto Toronto | Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

There will be express trains, but there is still going to be at least hourly or half hourly service to the stations within the 416.

I don't know if anything has been published on the details of the schematic airport spur. SNC Lavalin was 100% responsible for it until they backed out. I don't think it precludes building some sort of Finch-Etobicoke link into the airport via Woodbine Racetrack station. Such a setup would...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Technically scrapping is still selling, because you're selling it to a scrap metal dealer.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I suspect we will see stopping trains using certain tracks and express trains using certain tracks, but don't forget that ARL trains won't be the only kind of express train running on the line.

The additional tracks they are building will acomodate the ARL, express passenger trains and local passenger trains. They are all going to share tracks in some way.

If I had a dollar for every kid I knew who had parents that paid 100% of the cost to operate their car but made them pay their own transit fare I'd be one rich SOB. Ironically, the reason I am a poor uni grad is because I paid my own transit fare even though a car was available to me.

Strachan Ave. Georgetown/Milton Rail Corridor Grade Separation

No, it would not. Overhead catenary would absolutely not need grade separation, and there are plenty of 3rd rail crossings on the LIRR and on Metro-North.

Google Trip Planner comes to GO, TTC, BT

It's been on for several months now. You know how we Bramptonites (and associate Bramptonites) like to fly under the radar!

Despite what Ford says The Streetcar in Toronto is here to stay.

Why should we care how many kilometres of subway Washingto DC has planned? It's not a penis measuring contest.

He will be able to use that ticket. There is a guy who makes that same trip every weekend. I don't know if we're talking about the same person, but he'll be able to use that ticket.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Unless you're trying to impress and urban hipster, of course.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

The system is capable of deducting two fares from the Presto card at once for local transit only. I do not know if anyone has decided to take advantage of this feature. I don't know how transfers will work but I suspect someone will have to take a paper one.

Transit Security = GO Special Constables. The people you're thinking of are Provincial Offenses Officers, who are not (necessarily) special constables and are generally only used for ticket inspections.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Consider yourself lucky then! The tax credit site says: If the TTC moved to a two-hour time limited transfer and you purchased one every 1 hr 59 minutes for 20 days then you could technically claim those. That would be 240+ fares with each one expiring after the next became valid. $720 at the...

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

Actually, implementing a smart fare card in the suburbs before implementing it in the city is unprecedented.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

    1) You don't have to pay the entire cost of the pass at the beginning of the month since it's a pay as you go account. The discount you get at the end of the month is still roughly the same as a monthly pass. Also, if you end up taking a week off work then you won't pay for the trips you didn't...
