I think the Danforth extension fixed that. People won't care that Sheppard will stop at Victoria Park. They'll have a direct line to the financial district at McCowan or have a shorter bus trip (thanks to BRT) to the Sheppard Line at Vic Park. If the West extension was there, they could go south...

The line is ridiculous as is. Metrolinx already said no to converting the line to LRT and no mayor will dare to do that nor close it. There are solutions to this dead end. (WAYYYY down the road) Extending to Vic Park and Downsview would make it look less ridiculous in term of ridership...

Hopefully after what happened with the Chicago L Train accident at O'Hare Airport Station, the TTC will see the merit to have the train drive themselves just like in Montreal who's constantly one of the safest in the world

it was a better plan than this hybrid version of the line which left the Scarborough LRT vulnerable to hijacking. Was it necessary to be buried the whole way? No. Elevated tracks would have been an option but it would have been better than what were getting now.

Couldn't be farther from the truth. You keep forgetting that without the funding from City hall and the Feds, Murray was going to take the subway ball and run with it. Without funding from the Feds and the City, the Provincial Liberals would go back to the subway plan in the old SRT...

Funny how Murray didnt care about the city's choice of route when he wanted the subway built in the old srt corridor. The province paying pretty much guarantee that they can do whatever they want
