I agree. I'm betting the OCD minimalists (aka "The Greys") are getting freaked out by this! Help! Mental overload! Patterns! Shapes! Texture! Variety! Surely Toronto isn't ready for this!!! :)

My bad. I love a good tangent! :) Some more glazing is up on on the east side of Ice, and it's already starting to provide a nice reflection of the traffic on the Gardiner from my vantage point. This thing is going to provide some amazing reflections at night when it's all completed.

I think I read that the windows will be fixed when the building goes into its regular maintenance phase, rather than during the initial construction phase. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The scaffolding is now almost all gone from the north side of the dome. It's all looking mighty sharp! As for the TRUMP logos, although I like the look of the text/font/colour, I'm wondering if there will even be that many vantage points from the north side where all five letters will even be...

We look back in horror at some of this retro-futuristic brutalism now, but something tells me the UT members of 2050 will be having the same conversation about some of the condos built in this current boom!

Sorry I'm just a bit slow catching up with what's already been shown! :)

Man, this is almost as disappointing as Prometheus.

Mississauga gets Absolute. North York get Emerald. We get THIS?? I can normally find some good in most projects, but this is pretty soul-destroying! aA did a nice job of Ice, so why take such a bland step backwards with this? :(

Great updates on Ice. I must be one of the few people here who also actually like Infinity, although I would rather not have seen an exact copy. I am also glad there are some older, even though less attractive, condos on the waterfront, from different eras. If Harbour Square etc were not there...

I agree, the photo doesn't do it justice. It actually looks very appealing in person. Does anyone know what that material actually is?

Liking the signage so far. Also, I finally found a picture of what used to be on this lot. Not sure if it's been posted before here.

Pleased to hear that. I personally feel that signage is important to the overall look of modern buildings (with some exceptions of course). I wish the Ritz Carlton had added signage to its otherwise blank north side.

Some more of the scaffold from the dome has since come down. It's like a very slow striptease!

Sweet. Saw the balcony glass in person this morning, and it's looking good! The whole effect should look pretty close to the renders. The alternating balconet/balcony sections is a nice idea.

Honestly, these kindergarten-style sarcastic portmanteaus are just embarrassing you more than the neighbourhoods you're targeting. I'm sure there's an under 10s Lego-city forum somewhere online that will be more suited to your mental age! :)

Nice day eh! Just also been watching the panels go up. The have a more of a red tint to them than I expected. Should create an interesting effect though. Liking what I'm seeing all round so far.

Zinc tiles - Look like they are finally going up in the south facing dome. LED lights - Made big progress up the NW side. Can't wait to see this completed. Urban Toronto forum - Still a farce. Someone remind me why I keep coming back? It's like a bad drug addiction.

Work has started on the balcony glass. Two rows of fitted glass were showing on the east side this morning. Not sure if that is replaced glass, or just the coverings removed.

Parts of the letters "T" and "R" are up on the north side. Much larger lettering than I was expecting.
