Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm accustomed to seeing the large steel beam/anchors that mysteryman refers to, that's why this site struck me as unusual. It may very well be that the transformer station next door is the reason for this approach.

This option is expensive, but if you're desperate enough to consider a hotel you might want to look into it. A handful of companies in Toronto specialize in "corporate stay" accommodation, which generally means an apartment (furnished or unfurnished) in a relatively new and well located condo...

Question ... ... anybody know how the large metal tubes (images 4/5/6) figure into the overall construction/design of the building? I don't recall seeing these things at any of the other sites in the downtown area and I'm curious as to what they're for and why they'd be arranged in this manner.

I'd contacted Plazacorp back in 2004 when I first started considering a pre-construction purchase and I recall them saying they planned to start marketing in Spring 2005, but I guess the battle with 40 Wellesley put them well off that mark. I think the earlier comment that they've had approval...
