I believe the original proposal for the site to the west (40 Wellesley) was rejected and the design is back on the drawing board.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm accustomed to seeing the large steel beam/anchors that mysteryman refers to, that's why this site struck me as unusual. It may very well be that the transformer station next door is the reason for this approach.

    $1,000 for a lead

This option is expensive, but if you're desperate enough to consider a hotel you might want to look into it. A handful of companies in Toronto specialize in "corporate stay" accommodation, which generally means an apartment (furnished or unfurnished) in a relatively new and well located condo...

Question ... ... anybody know how the large metal tubes (images 4/5/6) figure into the overall construction/design of the building? I don't recall seeing these things at any of the other sites in the downtown area and I'm curious as to what they're for and why they'd be arranged in this manner.

... thanks Hydrogen, and as far as 455 Adelaide it appears to be coming along well. It looks like they're pouring my floor (8th) just now and will probably top out within a month or so. I don't know how long windows and interior finishes typically take to install, but I'm hoping they're still...

I'd contacted Plazacorp back in 2004 when I first started considering a pre-construction purchase and I recall them saying they planned to start marketing in Spring 2005, but I guess the battle with 40 Wellesley put them well off that mark. I think the earlier comment that they've had approval...

I think sites on King (478,560,570,650) are likely being redeveloped first because of their (relatively) large size and the fact that they're under single ownership. The buildings on the east side of Morrison are (relatively) small individual sites divided by a public lane way (a land assembly...
