Capital line design builders starting work on OMF
Kind of difficult to. The construction industry as a whole has been extremely price volatile over the last 4 years. And this isn’t restricted to LRT, bridges, roadwork, utility, all of it has become more expensive.
The gantry is almost done the segment over the miz entrance, it looks like they do some sort of closure pour which I haven’t seen them do before. 1st straddle bent for wem station is also done.
On another note the other OMF kinda looks shitty, I wish they went for a similar design to the phase...
I never said there was. Although if you look at the business case in June 2021, it predicted that major construction would start Q2 2022. Sad to see how far behind this project is.
Unlikely. It usually takes about 2-3 months for the consortium to mobilize. And PCL would subcontract to GIP before evening winning the bid. The bidding selection is already delayed- first it was Q1, now it’s not until summer. I doubt they are mobilized until Q3 or 4 2024.
Miz station spans are coming along. They seem to be using a false work system to erect the segments. I assume the gantry crane can’t erect them because the piers are different.
