    They did say that they would be finished by the end of summer, so this makes sense. It’d be nice if they gave us some sort of update, even if an opening date wasn’t announced.

    You need to be realistic. They city has budget limits. Look at the LRT master plan; most of that won’t happen by 2040. Who knows when the Metro line phase 2 and 3 will get funding. Or phase 2 capital line. Sometimes we need to have realistic expectations.

    Just drove by OMF parcel B; they have started erecting the structural steel. It looks like piling is nearly complete.

    Yep. That’s why Marigold went ahead and shut down that part of Stony plain road for this year. Same thing Transed did at 95 Avenue for those who remember

    They do things all at once though. You forget that they must also balance traffic concerns, pedestrian access, etc. Once they finish the utilities, they have to do the Duct banks that carry all the signals lines, electrical cables, OCS foundations and more. It’s a very complex process.

    When I listened to Marigold’s livestream with the city in May, one of the construction managers said they would have some track bed laid by the end of November on the closed portion of stony plain road.

    They most likely would have. If the cables were merely oxidized, but still operated fine, the demonstration wouldn’t have been effected. It seems more likely that Transed didn’t want to have to shutter service (ie not operate trains in a specific section) to replace the cables during operations.
