    Prognostication is Free

I have been saying this to people for a while. If Edmonton plays this decade right, they will receive a population boom around 2030. People should keep an eye on whats happening here. My theory: Toronto and Vancouver are gonna become so unaffordable for this next generation growing up seeking...

SkyriseEdmonton (Site & Forum Discussions and Issues)

Im surprised I can actually type in the forum now. Yesterday my layout changed and everything was a mess since. I wasnt able to interact on both pc or mobile. But it seems to be better now I guess?

    Miscellaneous

Regardless im sure alot of these businesses are still shortfalling. We need more supportive housing for the vulnerable, and ECC needs to create a reason or attraction for people to even want to go there. Hopefully the redevelopment will help. More on that first point tho

Edmonton | Spruce Grove Metro Ballpark | ?m | ?s | Gold Sports And Entertainment

Not trying to be that guy, but the rendering the prospects posted takes up alot more space than that corner on your map. All in all, I agree will be great for Spruce Grove, the location is great. However with the posted rendering I see towers in the back, what are the chances... Or am I...

Edmonton | Spruce Grove Metro Ballpark | ?m | ?s | Gold Sports And Entertainment

I agree with this, looked at the location from the post from earlier today. There was a large natural area there. I hope in general, Spruce Grove doesn't bulldoze more of that natural environment but builds more around it. However the upside, its a good eye pleaser when you drive in from 16A...

    Car-Free Streets

They could one lane that one block for the only purpose of that parkade. However thats east of churchill square. Anything West 100% should be blocked off to vehicles. I'm sure there could be compromise for that.

    Car-Free Streets

As I mentioned in the thread. It would be nice to see some colour!! Some trees??? Give me artifical turf! Something! I would enjoy it being shut down for cars. Its been closed for years, no need to put back cars. In fact making it more pedestrian friendly and accessible would encourage more...

    Municipal Politics

Regardless, Ill take Rice over 5 Pennies. I imagine she's better to work with. Her survey answers raised a question mark but sometimes its good for council to have that alternative point of view

    Edmonton | Prairie Sky Gondola | 76.2m | ?s | Prairie Sky | DIALOG

Once justification I can't wrap my head around that I have seen alot with this project is the "impact on the river valley" surrounding around noise and wildlife. I don't think this Gondola will contribute near enough the same level of noise as the cars going down those two roads. Those cars...

    Municipal Politics

I was able to get responses from Steele and Oshry about their stances on the West LRT, in which they are both in favor of the extension 🙏🏽 Mentioned their responses on the taproot survey and how west LRT is a touchy subject. But it was better to get response directly from them. Steele...

    Municipal Politics

It feels as if these candidates believe that LRT is meant to ONLY bring people downtown. What about people who work at WEM a major employment centre, or HCW at Misericordia, or people who want to go to grocery shopping along the route at Lewis or 149st. West Edmonton is more than just a...

    Municipal Politics

Its terrible! I definitely intended on using the Valley Line west so I can go downtown and go home after a few drinks (ha!) because the option would now exist and its cheaper! But naw "lets just cancel all the contracts, pay millions in penalties, and legal fees, pay millions to patch up the...

    Municipal Politics

She is getting alot of backlash for this one. Good to know she is psychic and knows all the ridership number 5-6 years down the road when the project is completed.

    Jasper Gates Redevelopment | 90m | 30s | RioCan | Stantec

Guess not. Safeway there is closing down I talked to the one cashier, the Safeway will be turned into a FreshCo? I imagine Sobeys still has a lease on the property then. They'll likely throw a trailer for the replacement pharmacy in the parking lot like they did with 127st. Not sure if they...

    Edmonton Branding and Tourism strategy

This would be more of a if Chicagos Maggie Daley Park and Calgary's Princes Island park had a baby, and slap Edmonton on it. Plus we have alot of golf courses anyway. Best part, generally golf courses have pathways to navigate those carts and whatnot, just connect those pathways together, slap...

Edmonton City Centre Mall (Renovations) | ?m | 2s | LaSalle Investment Management

Hopefully they take that Live and Play seriously. I feel malls need enterainment grounds now to increase foot traffic. Slap in housing into that and that foot traffic stays. Coming back from Vancouver recently I found the "Amazing Brentwood" to be actually amazing. The 2nd floor outdoor area...

    Edmonton Branding and Tourism strategy

Ill join in! 🙏🏽 This is a thought I have always had that could benefit the future of this city. Close Victoria Park Golf Course. Recreate it as Edmontons new entertainment ground in replacement of Nothlands site. It's close proximity to downtown extremely walkable with numerous access points...

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

It looks as if they're rebuilding the Costco gas station however. I believe it was just moved sightly to make more room for the new service roads.

    Yellowhead Trail Upgrades

The none efforts at the St Albert Trail exit is frustrating. Its a bottleneck in rush hour now, with westbound 142st and 149st closing, it's going to be far worse later. They need need need dedicated turn around lanes at St Albert Trail.
