    Sherway (Greenfield South) Power Plant

I didn't say that NIMBYism is wrong all the time, only that it is out of control. It is one thing to build a power plant in the middle of High Park, and another thing to build one in an industrial area. In this case, the motivation seems to be purely for selfish reasons.

    Sherway (Greenfield South) Power Plant

Mississauga already has 2 other natural gas power plants, both near the airport if I am not mistaken. Speaking of the airport, that is located in Mississauga as well. Airports aren't exactly great for air quality. So really, enough with the "Mississauga is getting a free ride" rhetoric...

    Roads: Roundabouts

Duke of York isn't a major thoroughfare. The whole point of the roundabouts is to have less car traffic along Duke of York. The area surrounding city hall is supposed to be a pedestrian friendly area.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

It seems that Mammoliti wants to stop public funds going towards shelters and get some private sector (yeah, right:rolleyes:) and the province to open a homeless shelter. The whole send panhandlers to the hospital thing seems like dumping the problem onto the province. (province pays for...

    Nathan Phillips Square Homeless Issue

Re: homelessness New York City used (not sure if they still do) paid the homeless to leave. If they had a family or someone willing to take them in somewhere (anywhere in the world really) the city would buy the plane ticket and ship them out. I suppose after the construction at NPS they...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Rob Ford musing that there should be advertisements in school gymnasiums. What he should do is sell advertising space on his suit (he is big enough) and his minivan. He could generate revenue that can cover his salary, thus saving the taxpayers money.

Home Smart Meters Sending Dangerous Wireless Signals

Methinks that Jane Sterks is trying to get attention. Partisan politics really. Opposition has to criticize something, right? What is the "dangerous" wireless signals the smart meters send out? Dangerous to one's bank account? There is no conclusive proof that wireless communication at...

Wouldn't a BRT or dedicated bus lanes be sufficient and cheaper?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

While the TTC ad may seem like "preaching to the choir", businesses routinely send advertisements out (whether direct mailing, on websites, TV commercials, etc) to their customers extolling the virtues of their new products and services to their existing paying customers. They do this to show...

Nick Kouvalis is so clever, with his false dilemmas...can't pay for police, so we have to cut libraries. There is no other options! If we don't do it, you will end up paying more! Does he really believe Torontonians are that gullible?

Arlington is the largest city in the USA that does not have a public transit system - not even a bus route! Do you know why? Voters there are afraid that they might unionize. You have a voting base that does not want to spend money on buses!

Rob Ford would make an excellent mayor in Arlington Texas.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I have a question, if someone on this board doesn't mind answering: If a pedestrian jaywalks or a cyclist breaks the HTA and it caught by a police officer, but that person does not have any photo ID (no driver's license or no passport). How can the cop write up a ticket? What happens? For other...

History of bike licensing in Toronto: http://www.toronto.ca/cycling/safety/licensing/history.htm Can't argue with the reasoning the city rejected licensing:
