Any chance this happens here? "In baffling move, B.C. mayor quits after one month in office..." http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1111636

What's the Yellow Smoke Coming from the Generating Station

It is NO2, it is common emission for Gas Turbines when they start-up after a shutdown. It should burn-off after the plant continuously runs, however I think that if you are seeing that plume quite often, the plant is not being used continuously, but rather "on demand".

Traffic in that area is going to be brutal - which is probably why council is reluctant to give the go ahead for tall buildings in MCC.

What will happen if protestors show up at the Mayor's Levee? Is Robbie going to listen to them and have a civilized debate, or will he have them thrown out?

St. James Park Re-Sodded By Volunteers

It sure seems that way, but I was annoyed with kkgg7's worldview at the time - it's moot now.

No floorplan, but from the Mississauga News: http://www.mississauga.com/news/business/article/1266737--condo-on-sale-for-3-2-million "a 3,401-sq.-ft. floor plan that features a spacious master bedroom with ensuite washroom, two guest bedrooms, his and hers matching libraries, a living room, a...

No, the 99% shouldn't be blamed for reckless spending. That is how I make money. Why should the poor people live within their means instead of me making more money off of them? Let them borrow to buy things. Our economy is based on consumption - we need as many people buying things as possible...

It looks like they took some inspiration from Atari for that logo. Also naming a restaurant "Stock" and a lounge "Suits" in a building in the final district seems so theme-parky. Are they trying to go for ironic? Do financial types have that sense of humour? The view from Trump Chicago that...

By Rob Ford's logic, by paying 75 million, he saved the city 950 million in not having the surface line built. Therefore, Rob Ford save the city 875 million dollars.

Let's all send Mr.Ford copies of the Toronto Star. The chair of Torstar has a point: "Honderich wrote: “Mayor Ford has no obligation to speak to or be interviewed by the Star. That is entirely his choice. However, when it comes to public press releases and public notifications from his office...

We do need more shooting ranges in the city. Gangbangers can get better at aiming and we will have less bystanders shot by stray bullets.

The 'crooked' spire could be a Wundt illusion. I don't mind the crows nest, and the catwalk can't be seen at ground level, nor at the one single angle the building looks good at. One thing the designers could have done was to make a recessed catwalk into the dome. At least then it would be...

Sheridan College (MCC, 4s, Rounthwaite Dick & Hadley Architects) COMPLETE

It's a college campus! Having a park in the middle of a college campus isn't unreasonable. If there is anything to complain about, it is the parking lots. Those will be gone, hopefully, after the next phases.

Cool. It seems odd to me that they would not have at least built the podium, but I guess Amacon is hedging their bets, right?

Public art in Mississauga? how urban! This is great, but I wonder what the rationale was behind the horses. I wish it was painted something other than grey - they blend in to much with the buildings. Contrast would have been good. It makes an interesting obstacle course for skateboarders and...

I don't understand the construction progress. It looks like they are building the south tower and the east tower, but are omitting the north tower and the rest of the podium. Are they just going to leave the north portion as is and build later, or are they planning on building everything in one go?

    Toronto 2024 Olympic Bid (Dead)

This is an interesting article about the Atlanta Olympic games, http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2009-09-21/news/0909200352_1_centennial-olympic-games-billy-payne-atlanta-committee Atlanta didn't have crippling debt after the games. EDIT: I do realize that public infrastructure was not...
