    Mississauga Toronto | Pinnacle Uptown: Crystal Condominiums | 167m | 28s | Pinnacle | Richmond Architects

What a crock. Another shortsighted development in Mississauga. If the LRT is going to be built, why continue with lower density? Mississauga's slogan is ironic: "Leading today for tomorrow."

    Toronto/Boston comparisons

But Boston has 5 different letters, compared to Toronto's 4. Therefore Boston is superior.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Re: Soft Drinks in Vending machines Doug Ford needs a "win". He has brought up the hot button issue of the "nanny-state" and the diminished revenue that will rile up his populist supporters.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Councillor James Pasternak wants to reinstate the free snacks for councillors: http://www.thestar.com/news/article/1068035--gravy-returns-ford-ally-wants-to-resurrect-free-snacks?bn=1 What is Pasternak trying to do? Is this some sort of weird power move? Rob Ford is the one who cut that...

    Hazel McCallion on Hot Seat

"...well at least she kept taxes low." It is indeed quite appalling that for the sake of saving money, the electorate (not just Mississaugans, but on a national level too) are willing to look the other way. Have Canadians become that cynical as to what to expect from politicians?

    Toronto Toronto | Sherway Gardens Expansion | ?m | 2s | Cadillac Fairview | DIALOG

Didn't they have the Olive garden in Canada up until the early 90s?

    Toronto Toronto | Sherway Gardens Expansion | ?m | 2s | Cadillac Fairview | DIALOG

Well, the pdf file seems to be have created in 2003, and Eaton's brand died in 2002, right? So poor attention to detail....

    Toronto Toronto | One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

I do think that 1 Bloor east needs a partner tower. A second more, ahem, masculine building would complement it just fine.

Sheridan College (MCC, 4s, Rounthwaite Dick & Hadley Architects) COMPLETE

A statue of a scholar would look really tacky, but, it seems so appropriate for Mississauga, a city that renamed a street to "Living Arts Drive"
  10. E

    Rob Ford's Toronto

I just want to point out that the city of Toronto did vote for Rob Ford despite knowing about his drunken outburst at a Leafs game, his arrest and drug use in Florida, all his verbal gaffes etc, etc. Either the people of Toronto have an infinite capacity to forgive, or nobody cares. Time to move on.
  11. E

    Rob Ford's Toronto

The problem is guys like Rob Ford are living in the past, when Toronto and the rest of Ontario was a manufacturing centre. Those days are long gone. Toronto needs to strengthen its position as a destination city for festivals, conferences and conventions.

The Samsung deal will increase bills $65 a year

The problem we have is that the people that are in power - who make the decisions - probably won't be alive to reap the benefits, so why pay more now?

Should Toronto Have A Set Of Standards for Potential Mayors?

What happens when nobody "qualified" wants the job in the first place? Then what?
  14. E

    Rob Ford's Toronto

So the Waterfront was "saved", so now what's on the agenda?
  15. E

    Nathan Phillips Square Homeless Issue

I don't understand what you mean. If a person has their rent paid for them by someone else, what is stopping that person from spending their assistance cheque on drugs? Or do you mean that instead of giving out assistance cheques, prepay their rent?
  16. E

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Well, that's the point. The people that voted for Rob Ford care about clean, smooth roads for cars, waste removal, and perhaps clean water. Everything else is gravy. Rob Ford doesn't have a use for daycare or senior housing. So why should his tax money pay for those things?

    Toronto Toronto | Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I just want to point out that many trade shows and conferences are hosted in Las Vegas...for the obvious reasons. Some people don't have a choice but to go to Las Vegas, 3 or 4 times a year.

Toronto Can Support more NHL teams

I would really love a second NHL team in the GTA. We can have a Mets-Yankees type of rivalry. The Leaf fans can make fun of the yokel suburban fans of the 905 team, and the 905ers can make fun of the sophisticated 416ers that cheer for perennial losers - 44 years and counting.

    Mississauga Toronto | Mississauga Transitway | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | IBI Group

It sucks it is taking so long. Is there any reason for the delay, that is not political? I have noticed some construction work by Erin Mills pkwy and the 403 on ramp, near the transmission line corridor. Is that unrelated? Or are they just finally building a sidewalk?
