^I would love it, but I just don't really see it as likely. 124 is not the major employment/tourist/night life/business node that would be attractive for a major hotel.

There was (fairly recently) a soap store in High Street called Lakehouse Naturals but they went out of business.

Heard rave things about Pizza Garage; I've been meaning to try it. Thanks for the reminder, GreenSpace.

And "the cities between Calgary and Banff" are already represented by the NDP MLA for Banff-Kananaskis. Realistically, the dozen or so ridings that saw the biggest swing away from the UCP in 2023 vs. 2019 were all within Calgary, followed by places like Airdrie and Red Deer. I think it's...

I'll believe this when I see shovels in the ground, but getting rid of that stupid suburban-looking tattoo shop building would be a huge win for the street.

I know someone who found his unit cold and moved out because of it. But that was just one guy, don't really know anyone else who's lived there.

I can't recall. I do remember the WPCL was happy about the $100K the developer had to pay for neighborhood amenity upgrades though.

I still see people flashing monthly passes to bus drivers whenever I take ETS. Some people prefer not to fuss with the tap system at all and don't have Arc cards for that reason. I use an Arc card myself, but the tap readers on busses can be very... temperamental, so this is a point of view that...

The underlying problem of course is that Danielle Smith is a deeply unserious person, who unfortunately is placed in a privileged and powerful decision-making role.

Really? I was on a bus recently, and peace officers scanned everyone's Arc cards to check if they had been properly tapped. Perhaps this is a lot easier on a stopped bus (with a captive audience) than a mass of people exiting an LRT station, though.

^I think these observations may not account for the population that has monthly passes. You don't tap those.
